The Alberton Gorge of the Clark Fork River offers some of the best whitewater rafting in Western Montana. The calm stretches in between rapids makes this the perfect family rafting trip, allowing for swimming and water fights. 💦

Yowza! 🔥 Around the time of the big storm a fire threatened our headquarters, and home. 🏠 A vehicle caught on fire while driving on the interstate, likely due to overheating in extreme temperatures.

It quickly spread to surrounding vegetation and trees. Our attempts to put it out would have been unsuccessful. We are incredibly grateful to the Frenchtown Rural Fire District & Nine Mile Ranger Station Crews for saving our business, and our home. ❤️

As you can see our shuttle bus was literally in the line of fire, but thanks to their quick and heroic efforts no property was lost and we were able to stay open. ❤️

This past week was tough on a lot of people and we want to sincerely thank the heroes that help us in our time of need. ❤️ Everything is operating smoothly again, and we appreciate it so much.

🔹 The Alberton Gorge is thriving! River trips are running and all is well out here. Beat the heat and enjoy summer with us.

🔸 Please be advised that the Clark Fork River is CLOSED from Milltown State Park to Kona Bridge. The Bitterroot River is CLOSED from Chief Looking Glass to the confluence with Clark Fork near Missoula, due to safety reasons following the big storm.

🔹 We want to extend a sincere & heartfelt thank you to the first responders & community members who are keeping us safe and helping during these times. Much love and respect for all you do! 💙

Hey Floaters & River Enthusiasts! Check out this information on parking to avoid getting fined or towed. Not our rules, but we wanted to share so you had a heads up. 👀

You can also avoid parking and shuttling altogether and book a trip with us on the Blackfoot River, Alberton Gorge or Missoula town float. 🛶

If you're headed to the river this weekend to beat the heat, remember there is no parking allowed on Highway 200 from Brickyard Lane to Lerch Lane, and on Speedway Avenue from Buttercup Lane to the junction of Highway 200 in East Missoula. If you park on Highway 200, your vehicle may be ticketed or towed by the Sheriff’s Office.

Vehicles parked on Highway 200 are a public nuisance for property owners and endanger pedestrians and other motorists. The new parking lot, located east of the original Sha-Ron fishing access site, offers 68 parking spaces and a paved walking path to the river.

When rafting the Alberton Gorge or Blackfoot Rivers with us we stop for an optional cliff jumping sesh. It’s especially-popular on the hot, hot days. 🥵

Forecast is calling for river time! 🛶

The current heat wave will continue through at least Monday, July 15th. In the lower valleys of north-central Idaho, high temperatures are forecasted to range between 105-115 degrees, with a stretch of around seven days of 100-degree or higher temperatures. Low temperatures will remain in the 60s and 70s. Similarly, the lower valleys of Montana are expected to experience three to seven days of temperatures near or over 100 degrees.
This extreme heat increases the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, older adults, people with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, and pets. To stay safe, avoid strenuous activities, wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing to reflect heat and sunlight, minimize direct sun exposure, drink plenty of water, and spend time in air-conditioned environments. Stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect yourself and others during this heat wave.
