I've been doing some reflecting and I've noticed a recurring theme, whether it's in the pages of Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations" or in modern platforms like therapy and AA: the spotlight on mindfulness and the principle of controlling only your own actions.

Isn't it striking how wisdom from different corners of the world can converge at the same fundamental point? It's a universal nod toward the role of mistakes in our lives. None of us are exempt from errors, but what differentiates us is how we respond to those missteps.

The next time you find yourself in a situation that didn't go as planned, consider it an invitation—an opportunity to pause and reflect. It's not just about admitting fault; it's about seizing the moment to steer towards personal growth and fulfillment.

As I engage more consulting clients I am always working on how to encourage without sounding trite.

Stop Giving Meaningless Compliments And Do This Instead There’s a difference between a “compliment” and an “acknowledgement,” and it sometimes comes down to a single word.
