University of Montana Rodeo Team
The UM Rodeo Team competes in the Big Sky Region as one of 12 schools within the region. There are a
UM Rodeo men and women have enjoyed a large degree of success from the late 1940's when UM's Delos Robins was the National Champion Steer Wrestler, through today, where our student-athletes have won Regional Championships in every event. Team members from UM have appeared at the College National Finals Rodeo every year since 1990, either as individuals or as entire team. Coached by 15-year PRCA me

In the Long Go, Lexi Murer placed 1st in the Barrel Racing, Ty Christensen placed 2nd in the Tie Down Roping, Kyra Pietrass was 9th in the Breakaway Roping, Brad McLean was 9th in the Team Roping and Trevor Klind and Logan Shaw were also 10th in the Team Roping.

Make sure you get your tickets now! Only a couple days away! This is the last regular season rodeo for all Big Sky Region athletes. Come and see who will make it to the College National Finals in June. Tickets increase at gate. Rodeo kicks off at 7pm both Friday and Saturday.

In Miles City Rodeo #2, Brooklin Baukol made it back to the short round in the Breakaway splitting 5th/6th in the short round and split 4th/5th in the average. Ty Christensen made it back in the Tie Down Roping and placing 4th in the round and 4th in the average. In the Barrel Racing Lexi Murer came back placing 3rd in the short round and 3rd in the average. Nicki Davidson also made it back in the Barrel Racing placing 4th in the round and 4th in the average!!
We are hosting our home rodeo THIS weekend April 26th/27th at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds in Hamilton!! We hope to see you there!🐻

Ty Christensen made it back in the Team Roping placing 3rd in the short round and 2nd in the average. Ty also came back in the Tie Down Roping and placed 5th in the average. Trevor Klind also came back in the Tie Down Roping placing 6th in the average.
Rodeo #2 starts tomorrow morning at 10am!!
The Grizzlies had a great rodeo at Bozeman Rodeo #2! In the Long Go, Ty Christensen split 6th/7th in the Tie Down Roping. Lacey Lawrence placed 2nd/3rd in the Breakaway Roping. In the Barrel Racing Janessa Long placed 3rd, Cheyanne Carl split 5th/6th/7th. In the Team Roping Brad McLean placed 3rd/4th.
In the Short Go, Ty went on to place 5th in the round and 5th in the average. In the Breakaway, Lacey placed 3rd and split 1st/2nd in the average. In the Barrels, Cheyanne placed 2nd and was 2nd in the average, Lexi Murer placed 3rd and was 3rd in the average, and Janessa Long was 6th in the average. Logan and Trevor placed 2nd and were 2nd in the average for Team Roping.
We are looking forward to bringing the heat in Miles City this weekend!! Go Griz!!🐻

The University of Montana Rodeo team had an amazing turnout at our 31st Annual Cowboy Ball!! Thank you Missoula and the surrounding area for all the support! In the team roping, Ty Christensen placed 1st in the short round and 2nd in the average! In the barrel racing, Darby Haskins placed 1st in the round and was also the Champion Barrel Racer! Cheyanne Carl was also an amazing standout in the barrels placing 3rd in the round and 2nd in the average.

We had 4 grizzlies make it back to the short round for rodeo #2!
In the Barrel Racing Darby Haskins split 5th/6th and Lexi Murer was 7th. In the Team Roping, Cheyanne Carl and Tamara Zaugg split 8th/9th/10th.

We had a good start to the college rodeo season in Cody, WY!
In rodeo #1, Lexi Murer placed 2nd in the Barrel Racing with a 17.59 and Cheyanne Carl placed 3rd with a 17.64. In the Steer Wrestling, Kasey Forum placed 7th with a 7.5.
In rodeo #2, Cheyanne Carl and Tamara Zaugg split 8th/9th in the Breakaway roping with a 3.6. In the Barrel Racing, Lacey Lawrence placed 8th with a 17.79.
