Now that Governor Ivey has signed Act 2024-385 into law, the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy is excited to announce the new Direct Access Law in Alabama! Effective June 1, 2024, this law expands the ability of licensed physical therapists to provide care without the need for a referral under certain conditions.

13 years ago at Delta State University!!! Playing college sports was one of the best times of my life. Traveling with my team, seeing higher level sports, meeting people from all over the world, making life long friends! I actually just caught up with my old college coach, Asa Atkinson yesterday. I have so much appreciation for this life experience and the role he played and all my teammates! Good times!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Nashville today with awesome friends making memories. It was hilly and tough and we had a couple hiccups but overall really awesome experience and hard work and we are looking forward to the next one! Nice work ladies!

I have had all of these symptoms and more and each “flare” or “episode” is different from the last. Some episodes last for weeks or months. Some last a day or two. But my return to baseline is never as good as my baseline before the flare. That’s why MS is called progressive.
Symptoms have been bad enough that I have been hospitalized due to symptoms or sometimes they just keep me home from work. I am among the lucky ones. So far, I’ve had it easy compared to others. When I go for infusions, I see people my age with MS in wheelchairs. As a physical therapist, I’ve had patients with MS who have it much worse than me. There is no cure but exercise helps slow the progression. So I will keep exercising.
