Opportunity to help a refugee:
Received from Tom Hampson:
I'm writing to see if you might assist me to help a young Afghan refugee. She's a 19 year old Afghan refugee woman who recently moved to Modesto from Missouri, where she was originally resettled in the summer. She's living with a shoestring relative and his family (husband, wife, two kids) in a two-bedroom apartment. She's getting registered at JC for ESL, has her SS card, but really needs housing. Could be a room-sharing, or rent a room situation. Wondered if you knew of anyone who might be able to assist or house her. If you do, please email me [email protected] or 209-402-9908. The family has been in contact with IRC, but they (IRC) are just overwhelmed. Thanks for whatever sage advice you can share.
Thanks!
