What does it mean to be a Dance Major at the 5th Ranked Collegiate Dance Program, recognized by ACDA and Jacob’s Pillow! Afterwards join us for our complimentary BBQ with other performing arts majors!

Monday 8/28 is the first day of the fall semester! If you are newly declared dance major at MJC or want to learn about the dance program then we want to meet you! Join MJC Innovate Dancers for a fundraising breakfast that will be held Saturday August 12th from 8am-10 at Applebee’s in Riverbank! Tickets are $15 and include pancakes, eggs, bacon, orange juice and coffee! Half of all tickets sales goes the to MJC Dance/MJC Foundation to assist the dancers with travel expenses. Help send your local COMMUNITY college dancers to Jacob’s Pillow in Beckett, MA to represent ACDA and MJC! Purchase your ticket today (Venmo) (be sure to put your name, how many tickets) Tickets will be held at the door at Applebee’s under your name or email [email protected] if you want to pay cash and tickets can be picked up on the east campus.

Register for dance classes this fall. You have the option of pursuing a degree in dance. Class offerings in multiples dance genres in Jazz, Modern/Contemporary techniques, Partnering, Hip Hop and Classical Ballet. Modesto Junior College offers a well rounded foundation for all learners. Immerse yourself within the historical context of dance origins by taking Dance 102 taught as a fully online class. All movement class are in person and provide not just the understanding of terminology but the much needed building blocks to execute skills. Discover what muscles are being used and how to use them correctly, strength training and mechanics are often missed in a young dancers training. But not here! Step into class with not just educators but professionals that are experts. Interested in joining a dance company to engage your performance skills, we have that to! The Perceptions and Innovate dance company offer dedicated and committed MJC dancers the chance to experience a professional setting, what it takes to have an exceptional work ethic, work with outside professional choreographers, travel, and perform at the local and National level!
