Good Morning Neighbors! If you've noticed that your water is turned off right now, it is unrelated to infrastructure updates and the City is aware. The water main was hit on Morton Boulevard, so the City has an emergency repair in progress.

Next Wednesday is our La Loma Summer Potluck! Come with the family and bring a neighbor, to enjoy good convo, live music by Kenny and Friends and a great atmosphere! Please bring a side dish and drinks to share and chairs or a blanket to sit on. See you there!

New Update!

The East Side Mosquito Abatement District has planned additional aerial mosquito control applications for over the East and Southwest communities of Modesto, to reduce the number of mosquitoes and limit the risk of local transmission of mosquito-borne viruses, including West Nile virus.

Good Afternoon! We received word from the folks at La Loma Grace Community Church that they are hosting a school supplies giveaway THIS Saturday August 3rd from 11AM-1PM, so help spread the word in the neighborhood!

Hey there La Loma! If you haven’t noticed, expect detours and road congestion on Encina and streets around La Loma Junior High - water/sewer updates in progress!

As of last week, we received an update from Councilmember Nick Bavaro that City Public Works is 90% complete with water/sewer updates East of El Vista, and that the next phases will focus on completing the areas West of El Vista. Be aware and on the lookout for updates coming to streets near you!

Sand volleyball officially has made it to East La Loma Park! LLN partnered with City Parks, Recreation, & Neighborhoods to make this new park resource happen, which was made possible with Measure H funds and an LLN contribution. We thank Parks staff for their time and efforts supporting this project, and we look forward to families having a new outdoor activity close to home! Located in the old playground pit just past the basketball court. Bring a ball, check out the all-new sand, and get set for some fun!

Its buckwheat season in the native garden. You may also enjoy the fragrance of the Cleveland sage blooming now. The desert willow trees are full of lovely pink blooms to attract the hummingbirds.
Every month there is something different blooming in the garden.

If you haven’t noticed, the tennis courts at East La Loma Park have been resurfaced! Thank you City of Modesto for supporting park resources and upgrades in the neighborhood!

Sad news at the La Loma Native Garden. Both of the adult little lending libraries were burned last night. All the books were destroyed and left charred. Thank you to everyone who has used, supported, and enjoyed the little libraries. If we are able to take up the rebuilding of these lending libraries, we would welcome the support. We will keep you posted!

Cuteness galore!

La Loma Neighborhood hosted the 4th Annual Modesto Pollinator festival on Saturday. It was a successful day with lots of enthusiastic booth leaders and cute kids in costumes for the parade. Looked like everyone had a great time and learned a few things too.
Thank you to all who participated and helped out to make the event a success.
