Stanislaus County Household Hazardous Waste Facility
The Stanislaus County Household Hazardous Waste Facility is free to use for the residents of Stanislaus County. The HHW facility also collects electronic waste.
Terms of use: https://www.stancounty.com/social.shtm The Stanislaus County HHW accepts the following items (Limit 15 gallons or 125 pounds):
Used oil/oil filters, batteries, antifreeze, gasoline/diesel fuel, brake fluid, carburetor cleaner, road flares, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, pool/spa chemicals, charcoal lighter fluid/tiki oil, paint/paint thinner (new & used), drain cleaners, aeros
Important Schedule Change Notice:
Due to extreme heat, the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will open at 7:30 am and close early at 11:00 am on Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6.
On Friday and Saturday, July 12 and 13, the HHW Facility will open at 7:30am and may also close early at 11:00 am, depending on the temperature forecast.

Please note the summer hours for the Stanislaus County HHW facility from June through August: Open Fridays and Saturdays 7:30AM-11:30AM for Stanislaus County Households.
From September through May, the Stanislaus County HHW facility is open Fridays and Saturdays 8:00AM -12:00PM for Stanislaus County Households.
Please note that the Stanislaus County HHW Facility will not accept wastes generated from businesses on Fridays or Saturdays.

Please note the following updates:
- New Reuse Program hours are every Saturday from 7:00AM-8:00 AM for Stanislaus County Residents to come to the Stanislaus County HHW Facility to take home a variety of items (e.g. oil, antifreeze, latex and oil-based point, etc.), that other residents have dropped off but are still in good condition.
- New summer hours for the Stanislaus County HHW facility from June through August: Open Fridays and Saturdays 7:30AM-11:30AM for Stanislaus County Households.
From September through May, the Stanislaus County HHW facility is open Fridays and Saturdays 8:00AM - 12:00PM for Stanislaus County Households.

Good morning Stanislaus! We are open today from 8-12! Please bring your hazardous waste and electronic waste to our permanent facility if you would like to responsibly dispose of these items!
Please remember to tape up your button batteries prior to coming to the facility as the HHW staff members will not accept these batteries if they are not tapped. Please also remember to have all of your hazardous and electronic waste in the back of your vehicle!
A special event is also happening in Modesto tomorrow which is the Drop the Drugs Event at the Modesto Court House in Downtown Modesto off of I street! If you need to drop off old medications or have home-generated sharps, you can come to that event from 10am-2pm to drop those off!

The Temporary Event in Turlock that was scheduled for today is cancelled due to COVID-19. The permanent facility will remain open today for all county residents.
Reuse Day starts at 7 and ends at 9 where you are able to come and pick up usable household cleaners, pool chemicals, paint, automotive chemicals and so much more! Please remember that these items are not for resale!
