A portion of all of my profits go to my organization Neighborhood Earth to help promote world kindness one act at a time! We help children, women, people of color, and other minorities and those in need around the world. Currently, we are raising money for the American Cancer Society via our Relay for Life team and our Foster Santa Toy & Clothing Drive to help make the holidays special for families in need and children in the foster system! I have heard (many times) that you should do what you love, find a way to get paid for it, so you can love what you do! That has become my philosophy in the last few years. While I still have to work the 9 to 5 for now, I am focusing my free time into growing Tubular Treasures. Now, for the name, which I'm sure some people are wondering about. I'm an 80's kid and I LOVE all things 80's and retro (ESPECIALLY NINTENDO). I was trying to categorize the things I make without pigeon-holing myself for the future, which is where I got treasures (encompassing trinkets, keychains, jewelry, figurines, etc.). There ya go... Tubular Treasures was born; it was almost Like Totally Tubular Treasures, but that seemed a bit much ;-)
There are so many things that I want to do with Tubular Treasures from creating YouTube tutorials to share my tips and such with beginners (the same way I learned from the people before me), to blogging, etc. I will, with time. Right now, though, I am focused on filling up my shop with as many nerdy, geeky, retro, fun, quirky items as I can come up with. I started out drawing and painting and building with legos and linkin logs, etc. constantly, when I was younger. My mom created custom cakes when I was growing up, so I took an interest in that. I made several cakes, but I just couldn't get past all the time and effort creating something so awesome only to have it destroyed. So, that is when I decided to get into polymer clay. I actually still use many of the tools and supplies that I had for making cakes (I promise, I don't use them to make cakes with anymore). Polymer clay allows me to spend all the time and effort that went with creating cakes, but having something that lasts forever (when taken care of). That's enough about me. I will update this as time goes on. If you have any questions or would like any advice, tips, etc. please do not hesitate to message me! Thank you for stopping by!
