Very true.
This is a very important truth to hold on to. Release the Holy Spirit within to also allow Him the opportunity to move through you in the world around you.

“Christian spiritual formation is a God-ordained process that shapes our entire person so that we take on the character and being of Christ himself. When we are open and responsive to this process, our outer life becomes an expression of this inner formation.”
Foster & Beebe, Longing for God, Seven Paths of Christian Devotion, 2009.
Good stuff from one of my college professors. He puts it in such a clear way and instructs in a way that encourages growth.
Here's a core principle about change I've often fumbled in trying to communicate so clearly:
"The changes in your life are not going to stop. If you're thinking about riding things out for awhile, waiting for things to settle down a bit, you may be in for a surprise. There's going to be no 'settling down.' Things are going to be in a constant state of upheaval on this planet and in your own life for a good while now. Actually...yes,, I might as well tell you...actually, forever.
Change is what is-and there is no way to change that..
What can be changed is the way you deal with change,
and the way you're changed by change."
Neale Donald Walsch, When Everything Changes Change Everything
"motivation is one of the greatest keys to success in every area of our lives. Education is important, but motivation is more important. Talent counts, but motivation counts more. Your network of contacts is valuable, but your personal motivation trumps all these things." -Tamara Lowe
How would you describe consciousness? Here's a couple ideas.. On reddit chat someone studying neuroscience said that its an emergent property which is basically when a bunch of tiny little parts come together to form something completely different at the level of the whole system. Joseph Campbell said the Cartesian mode thought of consciousness as something peculiar to the head but it isn't. He says, "Where you really see life energy, there's consciousness. Certainly the vegetable world is conscious. And when you live in the woods, as I did as a kid, you can see all these different consciousnesses relating to themselves. There is a plant consciousness and there is an animal consciousness, and we share both these things. You eat certain foods, and the bile knows whether there's something there for it to go to work on. The whole process is consciousness. Trying to interpret it in simply mechanistic terms won't work."
Men's Health:
Few things in life are guaranteed. But there's one thing you can absolutely take to the bank: You will fail. You'll blow the sale, fumble the date, whiff the interview, get lost, finish last, and generally look and feel like an idiot.
This is a good thing.
Because while success is the metric by which we are judged, failure is the mechanism that shapes us. It's the byproduct of living body, a symptom of refusing to play it safe, the fertilizer for developing character and grit. The trick is to learn how to use failure to your advantage-rather than let it steamroll your soul.
The secret? You have to believe, despite all available evidence, that your latest screw up was not, in fact, an unrecoverable setback but a hiccup that, in a weird cosmic way, bettered you in the long run. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy: Trust that a failure makes you kinder, smarter, stronger-and it will. Psychologists (us therapy folk) basically all agree on this.
The catch is that though flubbing is nothing new, these days it's a decidedly different experience than ever before. The reason: social media. Your latest breakups, layoff, or embarrassment is not potentially, and likely, on full display to your friends, family, and colleagues. Social media can also make you feel like a failure, with everyone on Instagram 24/7. No surprise, according to a 2017 study, 60 parent of social-media users report that it negatively affects their self-esteem.
But, frankly, forget wallowing in defeat or negativity, because, as Truman Capote said, "Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor." And take heart in the fact that almost anything worthwhile is preceded by some gnarly sh*t-eating and floundering, and that whatever doesn't ravage your confidence and self-worth will make you not only stronger but also bolder, happier-and, with a little luck, wiser. -J.R. Sullivan
