Ms. Thomas played an integral role by coordinating and sharing with the youth and young adults of MHA, and the surrounding communities to ensure our children received invaluable life skills that will help lead to greater educational, health, and workforce outcomes.

π€ A special βThank Youβ to our moms and families that attended the showcase, to Jamie Mayes for your dedication to our children, the Carmell Hill Fund for donating books and backpacks, and the Well Church for donating food boxes for our families.
πAt MHA Literacy is a priority because it empowers individuals to read, write, and communicate effectively. In Louisiana, literacy is especially important due to its impact on educational outcomes. If third graders in Louisiana do not pass the state reading test, several actions and interventions may be implemented including retention, summer school, parent teacher meetings, and intervention programs.
βοΈLastly improved literacy skills support better health outcomes, informed civic participation, and the ability to navigate social and economic systems effectively.
πIn partnership Family Develooment Enterprise, Inc, and Monroe City Schools, we were delighted to have Dr. Brian Bush, Director of Child Welfare and Attendance join JOHNSON CARVERβs Teen Empowerment Workshop.
