Can't sleep, so I'm coming up with ice cream flavors I'd like to see. This one's inspired by the Boise comedy scene. Keep in mind, this recipe was designed using ChatGPT. You might die eating it.

The Mad Swede Late Night Open Mic Has Been Cancelled Tonight Crunch

Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup strong brewed espresso, cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

After the operation, they send you to one of three rooms. There's the ok room, which is where you go if everything went all right. The not so ok room is where they send you if your doctor fu**ed up, and they have to do your surgery over again.

The third room is where they stack all the losers who don't make it to the ok or not so ok room.

You're probably wondering which room I was in. Not the third room. I could tell because Nurse Germaine brought me apple juice. The dead people don't get apple juice.

Thirty years ago, when insomnia wasn't a nightly occurrence, I remember lying awake in bed one night, rehearsing a stand-up act in my head. Something about a captive audience, where people were tied to their chairs. Something stupid like that. It went on for a long time, trying to iron out the kinks. I finally gave up and went back to sleep, but I never forgot the idea of doing stand-up comedy. Fast forward to now, and a kick in the a** from my friend Scott Shimamoto, then a workshop with Corey Martin Craig at Cool Beans Comedy, and wow, here I am, up on stage at the world famous Ice House for the first time as a stand-up comedian. How cool is that?

My dad, Moses, was the undisputed King of Arcadia Gardens. When he entered the room, he filled it. He told jokes and stories, and he raised bloody hell if a neighboring table was too close, or if nobody came to push my mother-in-law Betty back to her room in a timely fashion. A king of such stature comes around once in a generation. But I learned today that while my dad was King, Alan is surely the Mayor.
