CHN Book Club for Members

Our first book is The Brave Learner by Julie Bogart available on Amazon. The book is available on either Kindle $8.99 or Paperback $10.20

We will be reading and discussing two chapters each week. Our schedule for the first book will run weekly on Tuesday evenings from September 10 – October 29, 2024. We announce the next book during the last meeting of the current book, which is October 29, 2024.

This is a small group book club, which will not be recorded, but video and microphone are required for participation.

Homeschooling Multiple Ages: How to work with kids of different levels at the same time.

Join the homeschooling mama of 8 as she guides you through creative ways to balance the needs of different ages, levels, and abilities of kiddos all under the same roof. Learn engaging methods to working together and strategies for independent study time. This session will offer opportunities for Q & A and Bonus tips on how to occupy babies and toddlers while teaching your older children.

New for this year on:

The California Department of Education (CDE) is making changes in regards to the availability of the Private School Affidavit (PSA) filing system. Beginning with the 2023–24 school year, and annually thereafter, the PSA filing system will be available for filing on, or about, August 1. For the 2023–24 school year, the PSA filing system will be available August 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

Similar to our policy that accommodates PSA filing beyond the October filing window, this change will allow us to accommodate early PSA filing for newly established private schools and parents opting to withdraw their children from public education. It is our hope that this change will ease the startup processes for new private schools, as well as ease the disenrollment and compulsory education verification process for parents opting to withdraw their children from public education and enroll them in a private full-time day school prior to October 1.

COMPOUNDING EFFECT OF HABITS. Cultivating good work habits can be life-changing and I am ready. Being a mom, student, and small biz owner I have realized if I do not start planning and being more accountable I am just wasting time. When the election ended I had to take time to rest and lay low. I'm not a social butterfly so having a very public presence was out of my comfort zone but good. Now I am preparing to begin 2023 in an amazing way by being consistent and focused. Baby steps, yes, for sure. How are you planning to show up in the new year? What good habit would you like to form starting today?

Try to help someone every day. Say a kind word. Make a donation. Volunteer. Put purpose behind whatever you do! It will have an impact

Find your passion and work within it! You’ll be able to do so much more when your work aligns with your passion.
