“Life Changing..
You can’t really look at that picture and not think it. Life changing results. Those two women are the same but one is healthier, more grateful, and 115 lbs away from the first one.

I don’t even like to look at the comparison or focus on the number, because it’s a hard reminder of my truth. I was morbidly obese. In every sense of the word. Struggling to clean my house at my highest weight, due completely to my weight.

Or I think of the time I went to a theme park with my family, and couldn’t keep up with them because my hips hurt so bad. Let alone couldn’t fit on so many rides. It hurt. Emotionally, mentally, and physically. But it was my reality.

What doesn’t show in that picture is a woman who struggles with auto immune issues. Psoriasis has covered over 45% of my body at its highest point. Withered with excruciating pain, fatigue, and embarrassment. Then to add on the arthritis on top of it and it was unbearable.

Then there is the hormone imbalance. PCOS, Endometrosis, other infertility issues, and the list goes on. Not only were these things extremely physically painful but they have led to years of lots of heartache and frustration.

I’d asked for help. Got denied. Asked for a diagnosis, ignored. Asked for a US to confirm my PCOS, got the diagnosis and then got pushed to the side. My voice drowned out like so many women I know.

I tried the different diets. I tried the different supplements, fads, exercises. What I saw was the scale constantly growing, depression strengthening, pain excruciating, and hopelessness prevailing.

I could go on and on with different examples and stories of my journey, there are too many to recall.

My A1C hit an all time high and I desperately needed help. I was even considering weight loss surgery, even though for me, it’s something I absolutely did not want to do. It would be the last resort. Luckily, or maybe by the grace of God, I worked at an office who learned early about Mounjaro. Dr. Lawson was insistent I try it and see how I would do with it. I was willing to try anything, even this new drug I knew nothing about at the time.

Let me tell you, my journey has not been straight forward with it. I was SICK on the medicine when I first started. I should preface that with I had undiagnosed GI issues that cause spells of vomiting, and no one could find a diagnosis. I was sick, but the medicine worked. The symptoms subsided over time but the weight loss continued.

The first thing I noticed was my food noise was gone. For me, this is INCREDIBLE. I’ve struggled with it my whole life and did not know it was possible to not have it. This alone was life changing for me.

I did lose weight in the beginning and it was relieving more than anything. I felt hope for the first time in a really long time when it came to my health. I would continue with higher doses, stay on them for different periods of time, stop for months on end due to other health reasons and start back. My weight on the scale was not perfect nor linear. But there was change. That’s what mattered for me. I never thought I could lose 100 lbs. It seemed daunting at first, but I broke it down, set smaller short term goals, and allowed myself grace with the scale. THIS was probably the best thing I did for myself along this journey. It’s not a perfect journey but it’s one that absolutely works and changes lives.

My inflammation almost completely disappeared. I didn’t hurt every day. I rarely had psoriasis flare ups. I felt a difference with the inflammation in my stomach, and my periods/PCOS hurt less.

I watched my A1C go from 7.8 to 5.3 in THREE MONTHS! Three months! Finally, I found something that worked for me. I had tried other A1C medications and they didn’t work for me, not like this.

I got my life back.

As a patient, I could never be more grateful for the last two years and the journey I’ve been on. It’s been full of ups and downs and everything between for my journey, but I’m grateful for every minute of it because..

Salicylic acid topical is used to treat many skin disorders, such as acne, dandruff, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis of the skin and scalp, calluses, corns, common warts, and plantar warts, depending on the dosage form and strength of the preparation.
