🦮🐾Interest post!🐾🦮 Where are my hunters at? Dr. Sullivan has always had a soft spot for hunting and working dogs. Also, being the wife of an avid hunter, Dr. Sullivan knows the injuries and illnesses that hunting dogs can encounter while hunting. She also knows that when hunting, it’s not always easy or possible to get these dogs to a vet to be seen quickly. So this brought about the idea for “The Hunting Dog Box”. The Hunting Dog Box would be a toolbox type container, stuffed with all the things you may need while out hunting if your dog were to get hurt or sick. Specifically designed by a vet who owns hunting dogs. Like a first aid kit for our canine friends. The kit would contain many valuable items that would buy some time and possibly save your pets life when a veterinarian is not immediately available. Of course this would work for pet owners who don’t use their pets for hunting. And of course for all the other working dogs out there too. If this is something you would be interested in purchasing.. hunting dog or not.. drop a comment below! Enjoy a clip of Dr. Sullivan’s Labrador “Tuff” hunting pheasants in South Dakota for attention.

January 6th to January 17th.. Her full treatment protocol wasn’t even complete in this video. What these videos don’t show is her willingness to play with her sister, Fancy. It doesn’t show her going to get her toys and bringing them to us to play with her. It doesn’t show her going out and wondering around the yard instead of sitting at the door waiting to be let inside. Avery will still get treatments from time to time, likely every couple weeks. Or more frequently if she has a flare up. We are extremely happy with her progress and the response we’ve seen with her therapy laser treatments!

Yes, this is a tick 🤢 Yes, this video was taken yesterday 🫣 My husband pulled this off his clothes yesterday, January 18th. It was very alive! Y’all, keep your pets on flea/tick prevention year round! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Winter. Doesn’t. Kill. Ticks.

Another late update on Avery’s journey! This one is from January 11th - 5 days into her treatment protocol, and after only 3 treatments. It’s getting harder to get the videos, because she’s up and moving faster than I can get my phone out to video her! She’s moving more freely and eagerly! We can definitely tell an improvement in her activity level! A sign of less pain! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 If you think that your pet may benefit from these treatments, just give us a call! 606-753-0361

You’ll have to forgive how sporadic these posts may be. Relying on Dr. Sullivan to get the videos and make these posts is probably not the best idea, because we’re already behind. 😂 Avery actually began her treatments on Friday, January 5th. We haven’t gotten a video of her currently, but this video was taken Friday evening, when leaving the clinic after her very first treatment. You can already see how much more willingly Avery moves and can see her gait has loosened up after only one treatment. So how does this magical therapy laser work, you ask… The therapy laser simply enhances the body’s own natural ability to heal and manage pain. The class IV therapy laser uses an increased power to deliver red light to tissues quickly and effectively. This red light then stimulates circulation and oxygenation to the area targeted. This, in turn, leads to decreased inflammation (read pain) and increased healing (read comfort). If you have questions about the therapy laser, or are interested in this technique for your own pet, call us at 606-753-0361!

Follow us on Avery’s journey with the therapy laser! (And excuse the poor quality videos.) This video is Day 0 of Avery’s treatments. Both videos were taken before any treatments were started. Avery has battled with arthritis in her front toes and carpi (wrists) for several years. Thus far she has been managed with joint supplements and periodic NSAIDs during flare ups. While she will still receive her daily supplement, during these treatments, she will not receive any other pain medications through the course of these videos.

This is a post to let y’all know that although our large animal haul in facility is not operational just yet, we are finally starting to make some real progress! We’ve had some folks call asking about our facilities and we’re so excited to offer this new service very soon! But this is also a post to give some credit where credit is due! These two men are rarely at the forefront of the attention, but they have been crucial in getting TLVS to where we are today! Even before you all knew us as TLVS, and really, even before we’d landed on TLVS as our clinic name, these two were brainstorming, building, finding contacts, and working to make TLVS a success. Both of these men spend their days working their jobs and then come in the evenings to work some more in order to make Dr. Sullivan’s dreams a reality. We’re just thankful that God gave Dr. Sullivan such a great daddy (Galen) and husband (Cody)😉 If y’all are excited to use these facilities, or really to use our services at all, and you see one of these two out, let them know how thankful you are!

When you work in veterinary medicine, people always want to know, “What’s the weirdest animal you’ve ever worked on?!” Well folks, here’s your answer! 🐪 Thank you Jesus Alvarez for allowing us to work with all your out-of-the-ordinary animals! Don’t worry folks, this camel had a little cut, and he’s expected to make a full recovery!

Tail-wagging’ Tuesdays to brighten your day! Luna says “No tail - No problem” She’s a professional booty 🍑 shaker, and her booty shakes are a crowd favorite around here!

Taking Frank to the dreaded “back”
The truth about what happens when we take your dog to “the back” 😳😳😂 😂 I’m not sure who was enjoying themselves more, Frank or the TLVS team!

Lisa enjoyed this green grass today, but she had to enjoy it in moderation. Many horses and ponies, much like Lisa, are prone to founder on this rapidly growing, green grass! Horses with laminitis (more commonly known as founder) experience an irreversible rotation of their coffin bone, causing severe pain inside of their hooves. These cases can range from a mild lameness to severe, debilitating, and sometimes even fatal lameness. With the grass coming on so strong and this beautiful spring weather, be sure to watch your horses! Overweight horses and ponies tend to be most prone to this condition. Limiting turn out time or using a grazing muzzle on those most prone can help to decrease the chances of founder in those most susceptible! And as always, if you notice any issues, be sure to give us a call! 606-753-0361
