Did you know that nearly 16 million Americans have ? Dry eye occurs when your eyes don’t make enough tears to stay wet, or when your tears don’t work correctly. This can make your eyes feel uncomfortable, and in some cases it can cause vision problems. The good news is that if you have dry eye, there are lots of things you can do to keep your eyes healthy and stay comfortable.

Join us in celebrating our valued team member, Mikera! Mikera, our Front Desk Supervisor and Surgery Scheduler, has been promoted to our Practice Liaison for our Oklahoma offices! She began her career in October 2020 as a Patient Care Coordinator, promoted in March 2021 to our Surgery Scheduler, promoted in October 2021 as our Front Desk supervisor, and most recently promoted to our Practice Liaison this month! Congratulations on your new position Mikera, and thank you for your hard work and dedication to our patients and practice.

When spending a day in the summer sun, you know you need sunscreen for your skin, but your eyes need to be protected from the sun's harmful rays as well. You can protect your eyes from harmful UV rays by:
🕶️ Wearing sunglasses that block both UVA and UVB rays.
👒 Top off your outfit with a hat for some extra shade.
😎 Between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm, try to avoid direct sun and seek some shade.

July 12th is National Different Colored Eyes Day, which celebrates the uniqueness of those who have two different colored eyes! Having two different colored eyes is a condition called heterochromia, which effects approximately 1% of the world's population.
