PLAY it Forward
We are collecting gently used sporting equipment that will be distributed to those in need.
Many children from low-income families are unable to participate in sports due to the cost of equipment.
I want to send a special shout-out to, Gary from Marlton! Thank you so much for all the softball and baseball equipment. I love the fact you left a note, telling us a little about you and the equipment!
I'm so excited that your equipment will be put to use for another season!
We are so excited to see that people are starting to drop off donations! Thank you to all of you that have already participated!
Since it is starting to warm up, take advantage of the nice weather and clean out those garages and sheds! We are happy to take any unwanted sporting equipment that is in good condition.
As promised here is my flyer with all the information about my Mitzvah Project!
PLAY it Forward's drop-off is up and running! Feel free to stop by and donate your gently used sports equipment at any time! 😄
Hello, my name is Elliana Albert.
I am a 12-year-old preparing for my Bat Mitzvah on June 18, 2022. To complete a Bat Mitzvah, it is required for you to complete a project to help "repair the world". In Hebrew, Tikkun olam. This comes from the Torah and has been a Jewish tradition for thousands of years.
For my project, I have chosen to collect gently used sports equipment for people who can’t afford it. I have been very fortunate that I am always able to have the necessary equipment for my sports. Many children from low-income families are not as lucky, because they can't afford to pay for the required equipment. For example, when playing soccer for my school, we traveled to a town 45 minutes away. While my team had new uniforms, nice shin guards, and cleats, the other team had old and broken equipment. That is when I discovered my passion to support the underprivileged and help people gain the ability and equal opportunity to play sports.
So, I am actively collecting any lightly used sports equipment - from bats, balls, gloves, helmets, tennis rackets to flag football blets - nearly anything!
More information will be available soon. Meanwhile, please feel free to comment below or email me [email protected].
