Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Now that I'm back from vacation, I'm ready to hit the ground running. First up is the Art in the Park this Saturday, the 27th. I'll be outside at the starting at 11am.

I pulled some awesome pieces from the kiln Monday & I'm pretty excited to share these with y'all. On Saturday, I'll have plant spikes, trinket jars & boxes, vases, trivets, mini animals, pig planters, & some other fun surprises.

Stop by if you're in town! If you see something in these pics that you'd love to have, but aren't anywhere near the Fargo-Moorhead area, please reach out to me. I'd love to create something for you & ship it to your home.

Have a great week!

My Rocky Mountain Regional Reps dropped off more ceramics at The Walsenburg Mercantile yesterday. They restocked the plant feeders, rearranged a few things, and added some of my favorite new-to-me pieces. The sunflower lotus bowl is SO awesome AND it's food-safe! Oh and the cats...oh em gee fer cute.

If you're in Southern Colorado, swing by The Walsenburg Mercantile! It's a rad place, fo sho!

I'm always on the look out for small businesses who have just what I'm looking for. Recently, I stumbled across Wes Lights Trees & their amazing ceramic tree lights. I just HAD to order some special lights for some special trees. Can you guess which one of these I ordered???

Hellllooooooooo!!!

I've been hella busy in the Badio this week. Between finding my grandparents' pumpkin mold to fun glazing including this rainbow lotus bowl, I'm keeping my benches full of ceramics! I'm also restocking stores and registering for markets.

While I wait to hear if I've been selected for (hopefully) my next event in July, I wanted to update y'all with the market I know I'll be at :-) The Fargo-Moorhead Pride in the Park event is SO much fun and I'm ecstatic to be back. This bowl, along with a whole lotta other stuff, will be available for purchase on August 10th at Bluestem. Hope to see you there!

06/21/2024

Restocked a few plant watering spikes at .supply including a mushroom 🍄😁

If you're around Brewhalla, swing by the store, pick up a spike or two, & say hi to Hailey!

Have a great weekend everyone 🍻😁

Allllrighty. Trying this post for the second time.

TL;DR: the search for a matching pumpkin mold lid is on-going.

I spent my morning back in the Badio. Marc helped by unpacking from yesterday's market while I prepped for pumpkin pouring. It took a lot longer than I had expected, but that's OK.

The mold from my granddad's lot has been collecting dust. Since it's almost spooky season, I thought it was time to clean it & pour. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the lid. I had 3 lids but only 2 bases.

After a chat with my mom, & pics of her blue pumpkin granddad made for her, I figured the lid for his mold is somewhere, but not in the Badio. But I did have another base & lid from another lot I purchased last year. So pouring commenced.

It took about 4 gallons of slip to pour this pumpkin from Duncan. It was one heavy mamma-jamma even without the slip.

The first 2 pics are the pumpkin I poured. The third is granddad's pumpkin base (S-227). The rest are me pouring this honker of a pumpkin.

For the record, this isn't my biggest mold. That honor belongs to a bigass serving bowl from the Twylby Collection. That beast is next on my "to pour" list.

Happy Sunday!

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

This Saturday, I'll be at the SheyWest Father's Day Market starting at 9am. You will love what I've got on my bench right now almost ready for final firing. There's a Bison valet, Vikings trivet, owls, small sitting cats, a Pokemon ball or two (that's really a lidded bowl), and so much more.

I'm lucky enough to get two tables this time, so guess what...I'm having a sale. If you've seen my booth before, you may have seen my "Bargain Bin". These pieces didn't pass QA, but they're good enough to want a new home. This time, I'll have a "Bargain Table" full of my QA disappointments (see pic). These pieces are fine...ish. Some have blemishes, some the color didn't come out right, while others are just...disappointments. Everything on this table will be reduced in price, so now's your time to take advantage of this awesome sale!

See you on Saturday! I'll be inside the Ivy Room from 9am-5pm.

While cleaning greenware in our backyard, one of my new supervisors stopped by to check on my work. He's a real stickler, that's for sure.

Here's the "after" shot!

I am pretty happy with how this batch turned out. I did have a casualty though...the Christmas tree platter didn't make it. I'm pretty sure the massive crack was due to the fall it took during glazing. Stupid gravity.

2 more batches to fire before the Fathers Day Market on July 15th, so I gotta keep movin'. I'll have some fantastic items perfect for dads, especially if they're a little nerdy. Or are an NDSU fan. Hope to see you there!

Firing up the kiln again!

This time, I have plant spikes, a Christmas tree platter, vases galore, some owls, some pendants I'm trying out, and some lotus bowls. Crossing my fingers things will turn out OK!

I cannot believe it's June. Who pressed the fast-forward button on 2024?! Whoever did it needs to be put in time-out :-)

My next market is coming up in two weekends, just in time for Father's Day. I'll have some new pieces this time around; lotus bowls and small vintage cats. As always, I'll have plant watering spikes, vases galore, mini animals, a couple of valets, some pig planters, and trinket jars.

I'll be inside the Ivy Room, so if you're in the area, swing by!

I'm back in my Badio & I'm so excited! I also have a helper, Sweet Pea. She & her brother Vern love to stop by (for treats). It's always fun to see these two 😁

This spring & summer looks to be busy for me. Not only is my Rocky Mountain Regional Volunteers (aka Dad & Mom) working on new consignments for me, I'm also vending at some amazing markets! To keep up to date on my whereabouts, check out my website for more info: https://www.uncomnceramics.com/contact/

The next market I'll be at is this coming Sunday. I'm headed back to the .makersmarket! Hope to see you there!

04/19/2024

I've been back in the Badio for the past week or so, pouring & cleaning as much as I can. I even have a new-to-me mold (the owl)! I'm going to experiment on glazing this little guy & hope it comes out OK. If not, I'm sure I'll put it in the bargain bin.

My back patio/studio (appropriately named Badio) is such an inspiring space. The windows let in amazing sunlight, the birds chirping provide the best morning soundtrack, & sometimes the neighbors cat Vern stops by for pets. I've missed being back here, not to say my Craftice sucks. It's just good to get fresh-ish air & a change of scenery.

It’s been just over a year since I started unCOMN ceramics. It seems like just yesterday I was dreaming about starting my own ceramics company in Denver. I never thought I would be able to, not to mention do so in Moorhead, Minnesota. It’s been a year full of remembering processes, learning new techniques, and all the business back-end stuff needed to get things going. I’m so very thankful for all the things, most of all my husband, family, friends, and customers.

As I start year two, I have several goals I’d like to achieve. While I get them all on my Trello Board, I wanted to thank all who have helped me and continue to support my business.

At my next market (Fargo Makers Market on April 28th at Fargo Brewing Company), I’m offering a few specials just for y’all! First, I’m offering a 10% discount on your total purchase! Next, since Mother’s Day is coming up, I’ll have a Mother’s Day Bundle where you can purchase a bud vase and a mom vase for only $25. It’s a perfect gift for your mom! Lastly, I’m offering my mini animals 3 for $25! This includes mini owls, dragons, and chicks. FWIW, yes the 10% off your purchase applies to the bundles!

Thank you to everyone who has helped me in my journey. From all the amazing people who helped us move, to our new friends in the FM area, and all of my fantabulous customers…THANK YOU!!!

😁🤩🎉
