I love projects that allow me to combine my joy of crochet and knitting!! The Evina Cardigan by Heidi Petersen has grabbed my attention.
Evina cardigan is a knitted jacket with crochet granny squares. First, crochet granny squares and sew them together to form the body. Pick up stitches to knit in stockinette stitch. The body and sleeves are joined with raglan. Pick up stitches around the front edges for the double-knitted button band.
This is so cute and is now on my project wish list 😁!
Pattern is on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/evina-cardigan
REMINDER!! Tonight is the kick off of Liz's new KAL: the Lizzie! The Lizzie came about because Liz can’t read Danish and was trying to find the name of an open sided vest she saw on Instagram. In a nutshell, it is an open sided vest with a collar that grows out of the center with tabs, icord loops or buttons attaching the front to the back. No, it’s not on Ravelry. Liz is going to walk everyone through the step-by-step process. It’s a simple, make-it-your-own recipe and I can’t wait for everyone to try this!
Now I want to make felted clogs.....there is too much project inspiration out there!! Noro Ito clogs would be fantastic Christmas gifts for the loved ones in your life. It is not too soon to be starting gift projects. We have Noro Ito and Malvinas in the store with more colors arriving this fall. What are you waiting for? Go ahead and cast on some clogs!!
Have you jumped on the Summer Lee sock train yet?? Consider joining the Colorwork Cuff Club for twelve months of sock knitting fun!!
Each month, you will receive a new colorwork chart page (sometimes TWO new charts!) that you can plug in to your base pattern to create a new colorwork sock! The charts are all designed to be knit after the cuff, with the rest of the sock worked in relaxing stockinette. The Colorwork Cuff Club starts in August 2024 and ends July 2025! By the end of the year, you’ll have a sock drawer full of lovely Colorwork Cuff socks and a library of beautiful motifs you can use in a variety of projects.
The introductory price is just $12 for all 12 months if you purchase in August!

The Olympics are over, sadly. They gave us two solid weeks of guilt free TV knitting/crocheting. Who else got projects done?
I have been watching the Olympics and cheering all the athletes on for two weeks. I am so inspired! However, my days of being an athlete are far, far in the rearview mirror. However, I can have a Pentathlon Sale at the shop to have some fun with the Olympic Spirit. Today only, we are having 20% off on some of our favorite yarns: Woolstok Light (representing the USA), Opal (Gemany), Lanas Light (Italy), Lore (U.K.), and Rios (Peru/Uruguay). Which will win the gold medal?
Yes!! Zipper mail IS as much fun as squishmail!! The Scheepjes Whirls, Whirlettes, Catona and Stone Washed have been restocked!
Is zipper mail as much fun as squishmail?
The Lanas Light has been restocked!!
Tonight is our last night for the
Ranunculus KAL. Next week we start…The Lizzie! The Lizzie came about because I(Liz) can’t read Danish and was trying to find the name of an open sided vest I saw on Instagram. (My daughter showed me the “see translation” button long after I created the Lizzie. 🙄 Thanks anyway, themianna!❤️)
In a nutshell, it is an open sided vest with a collar that grows out of the center with tabs, icord loops or buttons attaching the front to the back.
No, it’s not on Ravelry. Basically, I’m going to walk everyone through the step-by-step process. It’s a simple, make it your own recipe and I can’t wait for everyone to try this! I’m at the store Thursdays after 2 and Saturday August 17 and 24 if you want more info. 🧶
Gloomy weather + Olympics = New WIP 😁
Some Llama love for your Wednesday!!
I don't do pattern round-ups often but I have Llama's on my mind and there are so many adorable llama crochet patterns out there! I had to share some of my favorites! https://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2024/08/24-free-crochet-llama-patterns.html
I did some shopping too this weekend at the Fiber Arts Festival!! I couldn’t resist some new Dreamer and Memento DK for the shop!!
We are having so much fun at the Fiber Arts Festival!! Plan on visiting our booth today to share in some sweet deals!! These offers are good at the Fiber Festival today only!
Dorothy is supervising the packing today. She is making sure we don’t slack off. Although she looks sweet, she is a harsh task master.
Stephen West's newest sock pattern has dropped: Woolen Waffle Socks. This pattern is knit top-down with an easy-to-knit knit & purl motif. The instructions include notes to help you fade three colorways together, but feel free to use as many shades as you like. Video links are included to help you cast on, work the heel flap, and bind off with the Kitchener stitch technique.
You can choose three or more colors of fi*****ng weight sock yarn and fade them together for this textured sock, or you can do it the easy way and use a cake of Double Knit Sister by Alexandra the Art of Yarn. Alex has done the heavy lifting for you and dyed the cake in fun, ombre colors. The cake is actually two smaller cakes wound together so you are ensured of two identical socks. These are amazing options if you knit your socks two at a time. Enjoy this simple relaxing sock project as your beautiful hand-dyed colors shine!
The pattern can be found on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/woolly-waffle-socks
The yarn can be found online and at the Fiber Arts Festival this weekend: https://prairiefberarts.com/products/double-knit-sister

Please plan on attending this fun event. It is being held from 9 am - 5 pm on Saturday, August 3rd, and from 10 am - 3 pm on Sunday, August 4th.
New felted notion bags from Frabjous Fibers have arrived in time for the Fiber Arts Festival. Can't make it to the festival this weekend? Swing by the store and check them out before they are gone!
The Malabrigo Rios and Sock have been re-stocked in anticipation of the Fiber Arts Festival this weekend. If you have been eyeing or waiting for a particular color make sure you get to the shop before Friday!!
Kelly and I were both super excited yesterday when we saw the Over Easy Sock pattern by Holli Yeoh Designs. The unique construction allows for endless creative combinations of yarns.
"Knit flat on two needles, these shortie socks are quick to complete: cast on after breakfast; bind off after lunch! Knit flat from cuff to toe and back again, these join-as-you-go socks provide opportunities to add attractive colour changes and sturdier yarn for high traffic soles.
Over Easy socks are knit flat and use short row shaping to create the cozy toe and heel. Slipped stitches and clever joins along the side provide a seam-as-you-go option that is easy to execute. The bifurcated heel with its short row gusset provides a more comfortable fit across the instep as well as greater heel depth on the back of the foot. These short socks stay up!
The Bifurcated Short Row Heel was inspired by commercial sport socks with a Y-shaped line of short row shaping on the heel. The bifurcated heel shaping creates a gusset that results in a deeper heel, raising the back of the sock for a more comfortable fit than a standard short row heel. It also provides more ease across the instep, which is notoriously tight on socks with short row heels. It’s an excellent heel for people with a high instep."
I will be casting these on! These would be a great KAL!! Comment below if you would love to see Kelly host one!
Pattern can be found on Ravelry, Kelly can be found at PFAC 😁

A mountain of Malabrigo arrived!! Both Rios and Sock have been restocked.
AND squishmail!!!!
Fun things keep arriving! New kits from Rikrack just landed!!
New felting kits have arrived!!
Fun stuff arriving for the Fiber Festival next week. BUT you can get them early if you stop at the shop between now and August 3rd.
Button, button, who has the button? It's not just a game for kids. Sometimes it can be hard to find just the right button. We now have a Button Box full of fun, tiny buttons for all of your amurigami animals, dolls, knit loveys etc.: 4mm. 6mm, 10mm and more.
Fun new things arrived today from Fox & Pine!!! Square Storage Pouches made from silicone, dpn holders, and new stitch stoppers (of course). These are adorable and will not last long!!
I love this CROCHET pattern using Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light! It has been so amazing to see more and more yarn venders developing crochet pattern support. The Bellview Crochet Wrap is a crocheted wrap featuring a very light-weight and wearable fabric. An easy eyelet pattern alternating with simple double crochet lets any underlying colors peek through. This is a great addition to your fall wardrobe. This would also be stunning worked up in Berroco Vintage Sock. Pattern can be found on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bellview-crochet-wrap
What do you do when the Crowdstrike technology failure means you can't file Sales & Use Tax Returns?? You might play with fun yarn combinations for Andrea Mowry's Rhineback sweater pattern Framed.
Details: Framed by a bold hem, neckline and cuffs, this year’s Rhinebeck sweater celebrates traditional handcrafts in a modern pullover. Knit from the bottom up and adorned with puff sleeves, this sweater will be a truly special addition to your handmade wardrobe! The body is worked in the round until the divide for the yoke. The remainder is worked flat, shaping the shoulders with German Short Rows and then finishing using the 3 needle bind off. The sleeves are then picked up from the body and knit in the round down to the cuff. Please note that the colorwork in this sweater is charted only.
Noro Ito, Malvinas and Silk Garden would be gorgeous additions to this pattern as well as some of our favorite Galway, 220 Superwash Merino, and Rios colors. What a fun project this would be!!
