As you may know, this Sunday, June 18, is Father's Day, and we will do our best to recognize and appreciate Fathers.

With each passing year, the family is under increasing pressure from the world to place less and less value on the family.

Our children are dealing with things that we could never have imagined just a few years ago as parents and grandparents. It seems that every few weeks, we hear of school shootings, as well as schools feeling they have a right to “parent” our children while sharing their own version of “family values.” I don't know about you, but I thank God for Teachers who love and serve God!

The Word of God is quite clear about God's plan for the family. Sadly, many families are without a Father in the home. While there are a variety of reasons for that, we should do our best as the church to declare truth and compassion. Yes, we believe they can go together!

I want to invite you to attend church this coming Father's Day as we look into some areas that will both challenge and encourage our families to be all God called them to be.

We will also be taking some time during the service to honor the Dads in attendance, and we will give a gift to all Dads in attendance. We realize that just like Mother's Day, this is not always an “easy” day for everyone, yet we do believe it is still important to “give honor where honor is due.”

The Bible says this: Ephesians 6:2-3, “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

Greetings in Christ!

What a wonderful time of the year! Once again, it is time to "give honor where honor is due" here at Strong Tower Church by honoring all Mothers who attend our services on Mother's Day.

We know Mothers should be honored on a daily basis, and not just one day out of the year, yet it is always such a joy to simply take time during our services to recognize and appreciate those who give so much in so many ways.

Special gifts will be given to the oldest mother, the youngest mother, and the mother with the most children in attendance.

Our speaker will be our own First Lady "Neicy", who is my wife of 47 years, mother of four sons and grandmother of six grandchildren.
