A great thing to do today!

The planetarium will be set up for the public this Saturday from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. It is also FREE Saturday, so no admission fees. Bring the whole family for a great adventure at the museum this Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Have you signed your baby, toddler, preschooler, or kindergartener up for our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program yet? A lanyard is given at sign up to proudly display the pins for reaching each 100 milestone! We also have special pins periodically (like for also participating in Summer Reading Challenge with a themed button, as supply lasts). You do not have to use library books for this program and the same book read over over and over counts EVERY time!

Does 1000 seem like a huge number? It's 2.7 books per day in 1 year, 1.4 books per day in 2 years, and less than 1 book per day for 3 years! Board books are very short and the average picture book ideal for reading out loud takes about 5-6 minutes.

RMCH L.E. painted Roman numerals on the hopscotches as part of their Ancient Rome unit. Hopscotch was first used by the Romans as a fitness exercise for Roman soldiers. After painting the Roman numerals the students learned how to play hopscotch.

For Montessori children, every day is Earth Day! Maria Montessori believed in giving children experiences in nature. In Montessori education, Earth Day principles are a natural part of everyday learning. Still, Earth Day is commonly observed in many Montessori Schools as an extra way to show respect for the earth and to build community.

We still have a handful of spaces for students in T-K (4 by 6/1) through 2nd grade!
