The Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University and NC New Teacher Support Annual BT Summit was a day we will never forget! Over 100 beginning teachers and BT support members from across our region came together to “Shine a Spotlight on All Learners”! The breakout sessions, panel, keynote speakers and reflection sessions were specifically crafted to allow novice educators/participants to take a deep dive into how to differentiate for ALL learners through the content, process, product, environment, and affect in their classrooms. Highlights of the day included having our day begin with inspiring messages from the 2022 Prudential NCCAT BT of the Year, Xavier Adams, and the 2024 Empower NCCAT BT of the Year Abby Bentley! Our lunch keynote was none other than Dr. Carol Ann Tomlinson—who provided solid, relevant resources and strategies from her over 300 books and articles on differentiation!
Our day was blessed with partnerships, sponsors, veteran presenters, BT presenters and panelists, and a hard working team of individuals that attended to every detail! Special thanks to Caroline Armstrong Beam, Julie Wilson Little, Katie Mauldin Matthews, Michelle Hoag, Morgan Lancaster Pittman, Anna Reynolds Lankford, Karen Walker, Ike Smith, Tony Coggins, and the support of Beth Edwards for making our event happen! We are already excited about our 4th annual BT Summit on August 1, 2025! We hope you will join us!🖤💛
