Help us identify objects in our collection!
Does anyone know the name of this instrument and/or what it was used for?
A big part of the work going on this year at the Neal Museum is cataloging the museum's collections. This entails describing, measuring, and noting the condition of every object under the care of the museum. We have been building a collection catalog to best care for our collection and help us provide the best educational experiences to our visitors.
In most museums, what you see on exhibit is not everything in the collection. At the Neal Museum we collect, protect, and use objects that represent a wide variety of topics related to healthcare in West Virginia. For example, this collection of uniform pieces and a office sign of Dr. Lorilla Bullard who was an Assistant Physician at Weston's Hospital for the Insane between 1896 and 1901.
