A Look Back at 150 Years | WVU Alumni
150 years of excellence doesn't happen by accident. Each decade has built upon the foundation laid by the alumni before them, and we now lift the generations to come who have yet to add their pages to the story of West Virginia University.
The WVU Alumni Association has been here for the journey, and it's all thanks to the dedication and hard work of our alumni. The next 150 years are full of opportunities to make an even greater impact on our communities, our state and the world. Here's to many more Mountaineer moments! Let's Go!
2023 WVU Homecoming Parade Marshal - Farai Simoyi-Agbede
"That's one of the things I learned from my professors - don't put yourself in a box. You can do many things. You can be many things. Go on and be great." - Farai Simoyi-Agbede ('05), grand marshal for the 2023 Homecoming Parade.
Before seeing her lead the Homecoming Parade tonight on High Street, meet our grand marshal, Farai Simoyi-Agbede! π
After graduating from West Virginia University in 2005, Farai moved to New York City and has since designed for some of the world's biggest stars - Beyonce, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake, and many others. She's since opened her own concept store with her husband called The Narativ House, a retail concept store in Brooklyn, New York.
It's been a while since she's been back home in Morgantown, but Farai is looking forward to returning to where she grew "from being a kid into who I am today."
Thank you for representing Mountaineer Nation so well, Farai! ππ
