We are excited to welcome Kevin Ellis, Abe Key, Denise Workman, and Abigail Browning as our newest members of the WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors! π
Ellis, Key, and Workman, all three alums, will serve six-year terms. Browning, a senior psychology major, double minoring in law and legal studies and criminology, will serve a one-year term and as a voice for current students and future alumni.

The 37th Annual Boone County Alumni and Friends Pig Roast and Music Frolic is this weekend! ππΆ
The Boone County Alumni and Friends chapter has raised more than $1 million and provided upwards of 500 student scholarships largely with proceeds from the Pig Roast, the organizationβs biggest annual fundraiser and one of the longest running Alumni Association signature chapter events.

WVU Today | Showing power of community, WVU Alumni chapter in Boone County marks milestone for student support Bringing together several generations of West Virginia University supporters, the WVU Alumni Association will celebrate a summer tradition during the 37th annual Boone County Alumni and Friends Pig Roast and Mountaineer Music Frolic on Saturday (July 13) in Boone County.
More than 200 alumni and friends made their way back to Almost Heaven to join the School of Pharmacy to celebrate the 110th anniversary of pharmacy education at WVU during an event at the Erickson Alumni Center. π

The Department of Transportation has awarded WVU $6.4 million for renovations on the PRT. The PRT, a vital part of the Morgantown Campus, will undergo upgrades to modernize the system and enhance the experience for passengers. The work will include aesthetic and infrastructural updates on stations, platforms, staircases, elevators, and guideway components.
After serving West Virginia University for thirty years, Maryanne Reed has decided to retire from her position as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the end of September. She will continue to provide her leadership and expertise until the end of the calendar year before retiring from the University. Paul Kreider, the current Vice Provost, will take on the role of interim provost starting on October 1, 2024. He will also continue to lead WVU Potomac State College until a new permanent campus president is appointed.

For the third time in his career, former head baseball coach Randy Mazey has been named the 2024 ABCA East Region Coach of the Year. In his final season, Mazey led WVU to new heights as the Mountaineers reached an NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history.
WVU Board of Governors Vice-Chair and Presidential Search Committee Chair Dr. Patrice Harris shared a letter to members of the University community today, providing an update on the presidential search process.

First Ascent, an initiative launched last year through the WVU Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative, is designed to support recent graduates from West Virginia University and Marshall University interested in staying in West Virginia. An exemplary group of motivated and ambitious recent West Virginia University graduates who have demonstrated leadership, commitment to community engagement and a deep love for West Virginia are now set to join the program.
