Morgantown Care & Rehabilitation Center

We had our first Lady's Luncheon today. We had lunch at Ruby Tuesday's, and it was delicious. We love getting out in the community and doing things. We had such a good time and can't wait to go on another adventure.

Every other Wednesday afternoon, we have Rockin' With Restorative. We get together and exercise to improve our range of motion.

Mr. Charles is enjoying catching up on the news.

We enjoyed some fresh air and popsicles on the porch today. According to St. Mary's Health, "Fresh air not only cleans your lungs, it can also boost your mood, lower your heart rate, increase energy levels, and even improve digestion."

We want to welcome Shane Carter to the Morgantown Care and Rehab team. Shane is the newest addition to our Plant Ops department. Welcome, Shane!

The Crave food truck will be at Morgantown Care and Rehab today, Wednesday, July 24th, serving their delicious sandwiches and melts from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. You can get the sandwich you "crave" and choose a side of chips or pasta salad. Don't forget to top it off with a Buckeye brownie or Oreo pudding for dessert! Take a look at their menu, and see us today for some fantastic food and fellowship!

Jenna Burden has been named our new Social Service Assistant. Jenna has been a C.N.A. here for three years and will graduate from Lindsay Wilson College in December 2024 with a Human Services and Counseling degree. Congratulations on your new position! We know that you will do great things!

In honor of National Ice Cream Day, we had an ice cream social in our Memory Care Unit. Thanks to Kenlea and the staff for a wonderful, sweet treat! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Ms. Nadine always goes around visiting the other elders. She is always smiling. Hebrews 13:2 "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

Ralph got to visit his wife, Wilma, in our Memory Care Unit. They are having a big time!

We can't let Christmas in July go by without thanking our very own Sharon Johnson, who wears the Grinch costume every year and entertains our elders. She is so animated, dancing and pretending to take the elders' gifts. She never complains about how hot it is inside the costume and truly has a heart for our elders. We love you, Sharon Johnson, and appreciate all you do!

In honor of National Ice Cream Day, our Employee Appreciation Committee provided an ice cream bar for all our stakeholders. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Mr. Doyle wasn't sure what to think about the Grinch. They became fast friends.

The Grinch visited our Memory Care Unit when he was here for Christmas in July. Just look at all those happy faces!

Ms. Novis got a visit from the Grinch at Christmas in July. She was tickled!

Christmas in July was a huge success despite the appearance of the Grinch! We think his heart grew three sizes that day!

A special thanks to Evenlyn Renfro and the congregation at Holy Trinity Catholic Church for providing gift bags for all of our elders for Christmas in July. They do this every year, and our elders enjoy it.
