Hwy 1 at Mud Creek to reopen on Wednesday Caltrans announced Tuesday that Highway 1 at Mud Creek in the Big Sur area will reopen on Wednesday, July 18, two days earlier than a planned ribbon-cutting event.

If you are traveling to Morro Bay this week for the Winter Bird Festival, we recommend using Hwy 46 from North 101 or Hwy 1 from San Luis Obispo in the South. Currently Hwy 41 is experiencing mudslides and we cannot guarantee that it will be open during your travels. Both routes are safe and just as quick as Hwy 41.
