Yellow House Blooms
Sharing fresh local flowers on a little flower cart.
***ALL SOLD OUT! Thank you all so much and have a great weekend!**
Happy Flower Friday! The little yellow cart is out this morning (7-12-24) and stocked with some beautiful bouquets! Come treat yourself, or a friend, before the heat comes! The address is always in the main bio. If you are worried about missing them, I’ll always update at the top of the post when we are sold out. If it doesn’t say we are done for the day, we aren’t done for the day.)
Why are Fresh locally grown flowers awesome? Take a look. The flowers for this bouquet were picked on the morning of July 2nd and put on the flower cart the morning of July 3rd. (Today is the 11th.) These sat on the cart for 8 hours on an 85 degree day. They didn’t sell, so I did an experiment. Look through the pics to see how they’ve held up. Some of the little filler flowers are finally getting crispy, but most of the zinnias have actually gotten fuller and prettier with age… in the vase! (Psst… The last pic is flowers picked this morning for a cart day tomorrow. Probably have them out around 7:45 am, but please check here first, I’ll be making a new post.)
**All Done! There were flowers left, but I’m calling it for the day. Hope to have you drop by next time.**
Surprise! Yay, it’s a flower day! The flowers are really still just starting but there are enough for a few beautiful bouquets on the little yellow cart. Bunches are $15 and there are two smaller mason jar arrangements for $10. Address is in the bio.
Pieces by Parrott has Bouqs with her farm grown flowers today. There’s more than these ones, so hop on over to her page if you’re interested!
Planning to use more and better beneficials. The first wave of Green Lacewing eggs (and hatched larva) went on this morning. (Really should do it at night, but it’s been windy in the evenings.) I have an order of beneficial nematodes on the way. I’m going to try and be better about releasing on a regular schedule and found some ways to try and attract and keep more local beneficials, especially the local lady beetles.
Corbet, Monet, Van Gogh, and all the real flowers were eye catching at the Getty (in LA) yesterday. 🥰🌸🌺🌼
Second round of seeds getting started. Peppers, yarrow, silene blushing lanterns, lace flowers, cup and saucer vines. Hopefully will get Snapdragons going tomorrow. (Some sweet peas, eucalyptus, and Lisianthus are up and growing some little tiny plants!) It’s nice to get my hands a little dirty.
Sat down to make my seed sowing schedule and I’m already behind! 🤣 Hoping to get Lisianthus, Sweet Peas and Eucalyptus in some dirt tomorrow!
The beautiful work and philosophy of Floret Flower Farm. 🥰 (BTWs no calling or texting me at 9am on Feb. 6th. I won’t answer, I’ll be online buying all the seeds!🌸🌼)
This is what keeps me busy in the winter! (Aside from garden planning and buying seeds, lol.)
2023 Growing season all wrapped up.
My life right now…
All the colors of a Babycakes rainbow.

It’s Flower Friday! (Oct. 6th) Come treat yourself and/or your loves to some gorgeous, juicy, dahlia heavy bouquets. Fall colors, jewel tones, and a few pastel arrangements. This is likely the last cart day of the season (but fingers crossed for another one.) The address is in the main bio.

Some dahlia bouqs for my girls weekend.
It’s fun to touch base with breeders about what their flowers are doing. Babycakes is one of my favorites from the fabulous Coseytown Flowers.

How we get from flowerbeds to bouquets. (There are more steps involved, but no one wants to see disinfecting snips or washing buckets. 😜)
