I am so grateful for understanding clients. Somehow my booking site allowed this client to book on a day I have a schedule doctor appointment. So I contacted my client right away to move the appointment to a time that will work for both of us.
See below for my embarrassing reply! And the client played it off so nicely. ๐
Funny, not a coincidence, that I just had a conversation last week with another client about respecting massage as it is a licensed profession. I can promise you, I may mistype something that may sound way off but you will never find me disrespecting my profession.
Oh boy was it a good laugh though!
My first year has gone by so fast!
Thank you to all of my clients I have seen over my first year in business for myself, I appreciate you!
Thank you for your support and any referral you have given. I am mainly building on referral as I am definitely not a marketing guru๐ your referrals mean the world to me๐ฅฐ
Here's to an amazing second year!
I am a huge supporter of chiropractic and love when my clients come see me and then immediately go get adjusted! Massage allows your body to relax supporting your chiropractor in their adjustments for you. This will usually aid in your body holding it's adjustment longer as well.

What is scapular winging?
Your scapulas, aka your shoulder blades, are two large bones that connect various muscles and ligaments together. When aligned correctly, they allow you to perform various movements such as raising your arm or shrugging your shoulders. Scapular winging occurs when one scapula is misaligned, often causing it to look like a wing sticking out from the back.
What are the causes and symptoms?
Scapular winging is most commonly caused by weakness of the muscles that stabilize the shoulder blades. Other causes include overuse througt repetitive throwing or overhead motion, as wel as nerve irritation, trauma, scoliosis, posture disorders, or round back. Symptoms often include pain, fatigue, and loss of motion in the neck, shoulders and back.
๐
Massage therapy can play a supportive role in improving and facilitating scapular winging by addressing muscular imbalances, tension, and restricted movement patterns around the scapula (shoulder blade) region. Here's how massage can help:
1. Muscle relaxation: Massage techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, and myofascial release can help relax tight and overactive muscles around the scapula, such as the rhomboids, levator scapulae, and upper trapezius. By reducing muscle tension, the scapula can move more freely and naturally, which may help alleviate the winging.
2. Increased circulation: Massage increases blood flow to the muscles, which can promote healing and reduce inflammation in the affected area. Improved circulation also helps deliver nutrients and oxygen to the muscles, aiding in their recovery and function.
3. Improved range of motion: Massage techniques like stretching and joint mobilization can help improve the range of motion in the shoulder joint and surrounding muscles. This increased flexibility can prevent stiffness and encourage proper movement patterns of the scapula, reducing the likelihood of winging.
4. Release of trigger points: Trigger points, or localized areas of muscle tightness and tenderness, can contribute to scapular winging by causing muscle imbalances and altered movement patterns. Massage therapy can target these trigger points to release tension and restore proper muscle function.
5. Postural awareness: Through massage therapy sessions, individuals can become more aware of their posture and movement habits. Massage therapists can provide education and guidance on proper posture and ergonomic techniques to help prevent future occurrences of scapular winging.
6. Stress reduction: Stress and tension can exacerbate muscular imbalances and contribute to poor posture, which may worsen scapular winging. Massage therapy promotes relaxation and reduces stress levels, which can indirectly improve muscular function and posture.
It's important to note that while massage therapy can be beneficial, it should be used in conjunction with other treatments such as physical therapy, corrective exercises, chiropractic and proper medical evaluation by a healthcare professional. Additionally, individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of the person with scapular winging are essential for optimal results.
I just LOVE this time of year. Birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the breeze is bringing fresh air into the house. Sitting on the deck in-between clients is rejuvenating๐ What a blessing it is to do a service I love doing and enjoying the place I get to serve in.
No worries for those who like it darker, the shades can get pulled๐

Some may not know that my location is located in our home. It makes getting to "work" very easy, and when your husband slips on the ice and injures his shoulder, I am able to treat him. Of course with our girls help.
We have 3 dogs, Kona, Maui and Remy. You may get to meet them while you're here๐ normally my office door is closed and they are not allowed in the massage room but they had to check on "dad".
I hope everyone had an incredible Christmas and New Year, I look forward to seeing you all and more this year!
The biggest flattery is a friend's referral. Thank you so very much to those who have sent referrals my way๐ฅฐ
