This summer, we had the pleasure of working with Sean Considine, who spent the past few months immersing himself in the world of concrete construction. Here’s a glimpse of what he learned:

🔨 Field Work: Sean experienced the day-to-day operations on-site, learning the importance of teamwork and quality control.

📊 Estimating: With our estimating team, Sean mastered the art of analyzing project plans and calculating costs to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

📅 Project Management: From planning to ex*****on, Sean learned the critical skills needed to keep projects on track and stakeholders aligned.

We are incredibly proud of Sean and grateful for his hard work. This internship has been a wonderful opportunity for learning and growth, and we can’t wait to see what Sean achieves next!

SheBuilds, a volunteer project hosted by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington and led by the Women Building Washington committee, partnered with Rebuilding Together Montgomery County to make a significant impact this year!

This past Friday, a few of our Canyon ladies volunteered to revitalize The Greentree Shelter (GTS), operated by the National Center for Children and Families (NCCF). As Montgomery County’s largest emergency family shelter, GTS plays a crucial role in supporting families in need. We’re proud to have contributed to this amazing cause and provided critical repairs to enhance the lives of those in our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered and made this project a success! Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community. 💪🔧🏠

ONE more day to go! The Hagerstown Flying Boxcars will be opening the gates at the Meritus Park stadium for their first ever home game tomorrow, May 4th with first pitch at 6:00PM. Having worked on this project as one of our first stadiums, Canyon Contracting is extremely proud of all the work we've done on this project. From where we began to where we are today, here are a few photos from the project to showcase the stadiums progress.

🎉 On Friday, Canyon Contracting hosted its annual 'All Hands' meeting, which was a tremendous success! 🌟 We were honored to host a stellar lineup of speakers, including Derek Richardson from Richardson Insurance Group, Andrew Walters from Builders Mutual, and Johanna Quintero from SmartVine. Their insights on team building, leadership and safety left us motivated and ready to conquer new challenges together. 🚀

One of the highlights of the event was the heartfelt moment when we welcomed back Mr. Billy Morgan, a cherished retired former employee of 18 years with Canyon. We were delighted to have him present the Billy Morgan award, renamed in his honor this year, to recognize employees with unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to Canyon. A big congratulations to Javier Rodriguez for winning this year's award, which is nominated by peers and leadership. 🏆
