The Clock Shop Of Mount Dora
I like clocks, all kinds of clocks, big clocks, little clocks and clocks by the lot.
Estate sale find! I paid $40. They told me it didn't work, I fixed the suspension spring and now it works like a charm.
Very cool! A golf ball alarm clock. Made by Europa and has 7 jewels.
I was watching this on eBay for a very long time. Finally I decided to toss a low-ball offer at it. I was hoping the offer would be rejected. Now that 8 have it, I like it and am happy.
Here's a fun little clock I found at a local thrift store. I had to put new movements, and they take an extra long stem. In case you want to know what time it is in California or if you live in California and you want to know what time it is in Florida, this clock is for you.
It's handmade by a man right here in Eustis Florida. It really looks cool, rustic.
This clock will be at my shop in renters flea market in Mount Dora Florida, shop D-33.
My latest and greatest project. This clock will run backwards, just like our current administration.
I found this old Sears Craftsman shop clock at an estate sale. New movement and it's running great. This will be in my shop at Renninger's Flea Market in Mount Dora Florida, shop D-33.
I found this at a local thrift store today. I it's a fun clock. I straightened a few parts as best I could, it's made of good thick steel. I added a new movement and it's ready for my shop. This clock should get lots of attention.
My bell strike clock is a polished and ready to go. The movement got a cleaning and a dab of oil while it was apart.
5 tube grandfather clock movement. In my newly built wight driven clock movement stand.
I got this Mikin, Disney clock today. The first thing I did was clean and oil it. It's still not working properly. This is Lady from the movie, Lady and the Tramp. Lady is a weight driven pendulum clock. Her pendulum was missing so I put a cuckoo clock pendulum of on her to see if I can get it working. I'll try a lighter pendulum tomorrow. This is the second Lady Mikin clock that came up on eBay in over a year. I got the first one.
Lady will be at my shop at Renninger's Flea Market, shop D-33, as soon as she's ready.
I just got this tall task light, Dozer model 1450 HR, with a magnifying glass and on wheels. I had to do a little work to fix it up. Now it's working great.
I'm selling this in my shop at Renningers Flea Market in Mount Dora Florida shop D-33.
Price $175.
Here it is, a1947 Bulova model 1214 electric clock, converted to a quartz clock. I used the best, very expensive chiming clock movement on the market. This high dollar movement has 5 different tunes, 2 different Westminster chime tunes, one is a chime and the other one is a bell. The 3rd is Ave Maria chime. The 4th is a gong come. The 5th plays 4 Christmas songs, a different time every hour.
#1, Wish you a Merry Christmas.
#2, Jingle Bells.
#3, Tis the Season.
#4 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, {Of Course}
I can set it to strike on the half hour and chime on the full hour or a 4x4 chime, a quarter chime every 15 minutes and the full chime every hour.
It sounds good. When it has the corded movement, there were no comes at all.
I fixed the hand position so is correct now.
I did this just for fun! It's a Star Trec Clock. I can't figure out how it's a Star Trec clock, but it is. This will be the best Star Trec clock you ever saw!
I looking to recreate this clock dial. I need a draftsman it maybe a calligrapher to redraw this clock dial.
This dial could be as old as 200 years. It's very fragile and falling apart. I'd like to get a duplicate dial as close as possible to this original clock dial as I can get.
If you have the skills to reproduce this Old Clock Dial, or know anyone with the skills and are in the Mount Dora, Eustis, Tavares area please contact me through Facebook, or messenger.
This is why I take electric motors out of old electric clocks and replace them with quartz movements. Old electric motors are a fire hazard and will burn your house down!
I'm going to put a very nice tubular bell battery operated quartz movement in place of the electric motor. This movement costs about $50, but this old beautiful clock deserves it.
Friends neighbors and partisans alike, I present my latest clock creation. My last clock creation was so popular I wanted to do it again.
This is a one of a kind piece, there is no others like it unless I make one. This clock creation will be at Renningers Flea Market shop D-33. I'll be there with my clock creations Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
If you would like me to make you one of these clock creations. Come see me at Renningers flea market in Mount Dora Florida. We can talk about cost availability and a time frame. Since I make these clocks one at a time, it will take a few weeks to make more.
I found this banjo clock at an estate sale. The name on the dial is, H H Whitehead. The movement is an E Howard Boston, #70 weight driven movement. There is absolutely no information on H H Whitehead that I can find. E Howard has a rich history and an honored tradition. I'm excited to have this clock in my possession.
This old clock is in rough shape, all the glass has been replaced, badly. The bottom picture is a Courier & Ives print from a book or a magazine. The dial is paper and falling apart. The dial is glued to a piece of copper it's all bent up. I don't know if the dial or the copper is original to the clock.
The movement is in great shape, the cable broke and that's the only problem there is. The weight has a copper outer shell filled with lead. The pendulum is a perfect condition. A new cable and this clock will be ticking again.
What do I do with the case? I want to replace the glass and have it reverse painted to look like it did when it was new. I don't know what to do with the dial, a lot of people say leave it alone, but I want to restore it which means a new dial. Anybody have any opinions let me know.
This old clock is a great find, I am honored to give it a new life.
I made a 26 inch diameter clock like this. It's so popular and everybody wants to buy it but I can't sell it, I won't sell it. So, I'm making smaller versions with a much lower price. These are 12 inches in diameter clocks, and the cost is $40. Please remember, these clocks are not mass produced and imported from China, they're hand made by me, one at a time. These two are complete and ready to set up at the clock shop at Renningers Flea Market in Mount Dora Florida. My shop number is D-33. I have three more blanks, and if these five sell I will make more.
If you want one you'll have to come to Renningers flea market in Mount Dora Florida starting this weekend. I'll be there from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., maybe 3:00 p.m. it's hot this time of year.
I found this Bulova electric clock at an estate sale. The problem is, I don't like electric clocks. They caused too many house fires. It works fine now, but I don't want to keep it plugged in 24/7.
I want to install an expensive quartz chiming movement. I put them in other clocks for customers and they sound great. Not a mechanical sound, but very close to an actual chime.
The clock is a model 1214 made around 1947. It's in unbelievably great condition and a gorgeous case.
I found this Seth Thomas Adamantine Clock, with a blond marble finish, at an estate sale today. It has a ST 89C movement and it's working great. I love the ST hands.
Brass box clock from the cuckoo clock manufacturing company. I finished this a week ago, but it didn't want to run. I put it aside to work on later, all of a sudden, Saturday morning I heard new chimes. This clock spontaneously started. Maybe my wife kicked it.
Every one of those white numbers fell off and a couple of side panels fell off. It was a pretty extensive repair. I'm happy with how it turned out.
I'll take this clock to my shop at Renningers Flea Market next weekend. I'll try to find some room for it.
My latest project is finished. It's a Waterbury Glass Cylinder 8-day Clock. I gave it a complete overhaul and I replaced the three rods holding this clock together. The threads were totally striped off, someone used glue to hold the old nuts on.
I really like this 130 year old clock. It's going in my shop at Renningers Flea Market this weekend. You local Florida birds, come out and see this and all my clocks.
Finally furnished! This is Art Deco clock from the 1940s to the early '50s was reasonably for a house fire. The motor burned up and cought the kitchen in fire.
I sand blasted out housing and painted it red and yellow like you see. I had a new dial printed exactly like the old one, but not charred and just messed up. Brand new quartz movement and hands.
This was a labor of love, I'll never get my money out of it, so I'll just have to keep it.
Here's my next victim. A no name brass clock with a Westminster Chime Cuckoo Clock mfg. Co. movement inside. With 2 jewels. There's no floating escapement. And the cheap numbers fell off.
I'm working on this very old Seth Thomas 30 hour clock. Probably from the late 1800s. I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to woodworking, but I had to fill every hole that screws go into. The worst part of this bill is I have to put a new dial on it. I think the old one was too far gone. The previous owner put a paper dial that it's all chewed up now. There's nothing to do now but wait for glue to dry. I'll revisit this in the morning.
I finally got my kangaroo sw***er a swingin'. I was going to clean off my bench, but I thought I fixed my kangaroo instead. I'm glad I did.
Coming to the clock shop at Renningers Flea Market in Mount Dora Florida soon.
I found another Snap-On Girly Girl Clock. She's pretty! I fixed her up and she's ready to go on my wall soon, as soon as I have room.
My sw***er stopped a swingin'. I brought it home to see why. Everything inside is totally worn out. It's going to take some major surgery to tighten up all the gears and pivots. I put it back together and it's swingin' now, but for how long?
Some questions I have are, did I go to far? Not far enough? Or, is it just right?
I made another clock creation. It's a lenticular art creation, I made into a clock. The subject is the man you cannot name, because fakebook will take it down. I have so much fun. Either you love him or hate him, there's no middle ground.
