I was asked to help with the most amazing fundraiser I've ever seen yesterday! The had their annual Read-y To Wear fundraiser at !! What an amazing gala with some of the most amazing dresses I have ever seen - they were all made out of paper!! Honored to have gotten to be a part of this event for an incredibly worthwhile organization!
MRP not only gives FREE books to kids they also gave 1000 teachers 25 books each to help build a diverse classroom library!

❄️You will never be charged a cancelation fee for weather related rescheduling! My mom-van doesn't handle great in the snow either so I'd rather keep us all safe!
❄️As much as we can plan ahead, great! If you want to reach out earlier to find a different time please feel free! Understand that I may not be able to get you in immediately but you will have first priority for rebooking.
❄️Keeping communication open is our best bet: if you are running late or something happens in transit I am always willing to make things work as we can, but please be patient if we get a little off schedule.
❄️Make sure I have your current and correct information on file in case we do need to communicate on the fly! If you've updated your phone number or email please let me know asap!

Today marks 25 years since Matthew Shepard's death. He was beaten and left for death tied to a fence post in a field. He was 21 years old.
As a mom to a transgender kid that will be an adult sooner than I can wrap my head around I think about Matthew every single day. I still remember talking about this when the news broke. I was a junior in high school. His parents have now had to live without him longer than they got to live with him.
This is my worst fear as a parent. Every single day I worry about what, and who, my kid will encounter out in the world when I can no longer protect him. Every time I hear anti - LGBTQ rhetoric I think about my kid. Every time I hear about another bathroom bill or sports bill being drafted trying to further marginalize transgender people I feel a stab of anger in my heart - and fear. When I hear people crack "just a joke" I think about how humans are capable of incredible evil.
These are people. Human beings who have every single right to feel free to live their best lives. They deserve love and support just like any other. Their talents, passions, and contributions they make to the world are no less important than anyone else. They deserve to live in a world without fear.
So please, be extra kind today. Be the person I wish would have stepped up to defend Matthew. Let's open our eyes, and hearts, and put a new lens on what we call inclusivity. Open your heart and mind to the fact that honoring diversity benefits us all.
