We heard the words twice and each time was a punch in the gut. Let’s Go Gold the month of September because our children deserve more than 4% of federal funding to find a cure!

July 19, 2016 is the day our world changed forever. Life was quickly divided into before and after. It’s a club you never want to be in but once you are-you witness true strength, courage and grace as you watch kids go through unimaginable things. Today is the first day of Childhood cancer awareness month. So we will be sharing facts about childhood cancer and stories about Sarah’s journey throughout the month.

It's September 1st and the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM). Within our community, there is a day, a moment, when “awareness” of childhood cancer took on a whole new meaning. It can be the acute moment that defines the "before and "after" for the rest of our lives. How we look at our children, how we see the world we live in, and how our priorities immediately shift as the veil of emotional trauma quietly pours over us and we begin to process the reality of redefining our family's future each day. Whether it was over 20 years ago or just last week, diagnosis day is the most basic common denominator in our community. Somehow through technology, in hospital hallways, or through meeting others, you are reading this, and we are here as a community. Let's create some together by sharing the date our lives changed forever. Let others see that we are here, that we stand up for our kids, and because of that day, we are bonded together.

Hi friends! I know I’m a little late posting but just wanted to share a picture from our trip to Erlanger Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. We are excited to partner with them! I have some exciting news to share later in the week about a new partnership for our caregiver packages! Stay tuned!

The Global Effort To Evacuate Children With Cancer From Ukraine Children with cancer are being transferred to hospitals around the world, but many remain in Ukraine with dwindling supplies of drugs and supplies.

Today is SarBear’s 18th Birthday and she is celebrating with Jesus while we celebrate her life here on Earth. We are taking SarBear packages to the hospital along with some other tasty treats in her honor. This is our 3rd birthday without her here and it’s not any easier.

SarBear had so many thoughts of what life would be like when she turned 18-she would have her own apartment, make her own rules, wear what she wanted, do what she wanted. I asked her once who was going to pay for all this-her response “you and dad until I become a famous fashion designer and live in Paris and Hawaii”

We ask that you remember her today by Sharing like Sarah-whatever that looks like for you.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Please do not politicize this post-what is happening in the Ukraine is devastating. Please, please, please when you are praying for Ukraine, remember these children, their families, and the doctors in your prayers!

Parents forced to transfuse blood to their sick children as cancer wards become bomb shelters Their treatments have been interrupted by the conflict. If it continues, “our patients, they will die,” a Kyiv doctor said.

Something new is in the works! Will it be a keychain? Will it be a token? Or something else? Stay tuned to find out.

Today is International Childhood Cancer Awareness day. The statistics on this infographic are sad and frightening. Everyday here in the US 43 children are diagnosed with cancer and over 800 each day are diagnosed world wide.

The Sarah Meers Foundation was created to bring a smile and some small measure of comfort to children and their families as they navigate one of the hardest (if not the hardest) journeys of their lives.

Until there is a cure, we will be here standing with these families-praying for them and loving them. One SarBear package at a time.

We are so thankful for this group of people! What a blessing it was to have them with us on Saturday. SarBear packages have been assembled and are awaiting delivery. A huge thank you to Shirl, Matthew, LeeAnn and Anna for serving! Things are happening quickly behind the scenes here at the foundation. Another delivery in the books with some sweet friends! Thank you to all of our supporters for making this possible! It was a great time of fellowship with some of our tribe. It’s always fun to take SarBear packages and but today was extra fun to include Matthew and Shirl. Matthew and Sarah went to school together from 3rd grade on and had the sweetest friendship. Matthew’s reputation of course proceeded him as Sarah made sure EVERYONE knew about her best friend! Thank you both for going with us!
