Well that was fast....

Okay so it's already September and I'm over the end of summer blues and totally excited for the schedule ahead for Wonderfill!

We will be attending some great markets as we roll into the season in both Uptown Mt. Lebanon and Bethel Park as well as some specialty holiday markets. But first, we're excited to pop up at Sweat in Siena at St. Clair to help celebrate their 7th (WOW impressive) Anniversary. Check out these dates on our calendar below.

Also below, you can learn more about our FREE pickup, delivery and drop off options as well as our expanding 30 gallon barrels in the shop!

Lastly, it's finally time to put all of our donated yarn to use! Stop in the store anytime in September/ October to pick up some yarn and get started on our hats and scarves for donation to people experiencing homelessness in November/December. We will include a small free sample of a refill of your choice when you return your donated hat or scarf. Our talented teacher, Laura Davidson of Knit By Ma and Bear, will be on hand to answer any questions along the way or to even meet you at the shop to help!

Conversely, if you stop in to the shop but don't have much time, we are happy to take your order. We will do the refilling for you to pick up later or let us deliver to you.

Sip-n-Shop with Your Group

We are currently booking Fall and Holiday private shopping events in the store for non profits, religious groups, teams, clubs, etc. It's a great way for your group to gather while also raising funds, as we donate 10% of the sales back to you.

If you've been in the shop lately, you couldn't miss our five 30 GALLON drums holding some of our most popular products. These fan faves, including concentrated laundry detergents, dish soap and hand soaps have arrived in their "bonafide, sanitized, re-used" containers per Rustic Strength.

This clearly cuts down on our shipping, but they're also super fun and efficient to use-- as many of you have discovered! Most importantly-- they are all free of parabens, phthalates, harsh chemicals, artificial color or scent and they completely eliminate the need to purchase any more plastic jugs. And these products WORK!!

It's Plastic Free July!

Huh?

Hi everyone and Happy Plastic Free July. I know-- I had never heard of Plastic Free July until recently-- but it t's a real thing and we are HERE for it! Plastic Free July is actually a registered charity based in Australia that is operating across the globe- and its reached us here at Wonderfill.

Though plastics will never be eliminated, we've proven that they can certainly be reduced! In just the six months that we've been open, Wonderfillers have filled almost 16,000 ounces of refills, saving nearly 1,000 plastic bottles from thousands of years in a landfill or an ocean. And that doesn't even count the hundreds of products we've sold in re-usable aluminum or glass, the natural fiber brushes, the lip balms, shampoo bars and so much more that offer an alternative to plastic.

Of course we practice progress, not perfection and any small act helps. Maybe you choose to refill an empty laundry or dish soap jug instead of buying a new one. Or you may try a shampoo bar to replace two bottles of shampoo or a new deodorant in a refillable glass jar.

We all know that every Mom deserves some recognition and appreciation. And perhaps some downtime? To be sure, we are fully stocked with plenty of low-waste items, many of them local, to help you make a gift just for her.

Some nice options include dry brushes, custom locally-made soaps, shower steamers, gorgeous bath bombs made from essential oils, sugar scrubs and body lotions, skin care, canvas bags and locally-made candles. All free of parabens, harsh chemicals and phthalates.

Of course if your Mom's idea of a good time happens to include cleaning, then we've certainly got you covered with our dozens of cleaning refills, tools and products. Hey, she gets to do whatever she wants!

Grads!
Graduation is exciting but it can definitely be a little rough sending our kids off on their own. You know what softens the blow? Arming them with some good tools!

This generation, more than those before them, understands the need to reduce waste and they deserve a future where we all use less. So send a grad on their way with some good options to make dorm living more efficient. Our traveling bamboo cutlery sets make the perfect dorm silverware- easy to clean and store. Toss in a Swedish dishcloth which absorbs 20 times its weight to help with spills- minor and major. Over its useful lifetime, about a school year, one Swedsh dishcloth replaces 17 rolls of paper towels!

Our concentrated laundry detergent- only 2 TB for a full load, allows students to get by with much less than water-filled detergent. Add in a couple of 100% wool dryer balls and your new college freshman will be feeling super satisfied with the the shortened drying time and the elimination of wasteful dryer sheets. Lastly, you can send them on their way with a custom-sized refill of shampoos, body washes, and cleaners, all free of phthalates, parabens, artificial colors, fragrance and harsh chemicals.
