Myasthenia Gravis is a disorder causing extreme muscle weakness that can impact a person’s ability to see, walk, talk, breathe, and even smile. For people with MG muscles don’t respond to the signal sent by the brain.

Anyone can get MG, but it is not contagious. It affects people of all ages, races, and genders.

There is currently no cure. However, there are many treatment options that can make managing life with MG easier! Your friends at Vital Care are able to assist with some of the provider prescribed medications. 💙

GBS (Guillain-Barre Syndrome) is an acute inflammatory disorder that causes muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy) on the other hand is a chronic neurological disease in which the immune system attacks and damages the protective coating covering the nerves, causing weakness, pain, numbness, and tingling in the arms and legs, as well as loss of balance that may impair the ability to walk. It’s estimated that 450,000 people worldwide are impacted by CIDP.

April is Primary Immunodeficiency Month and its intention is to raise awareness of primary immunodeficiency disorders (PIDDs). PIDDs affects thousands of people, however many patients do not have an in-depth knowledge of this disorder. Your local Vital Care Pharmacy team is knowledgeable about the chronic disease states and treatments to help partner with patients and providers. 🖤🤍
