Fifth grade students enjoyed an AWESOME visit last Friday by band, orchestra and chorus programs from Cario Middle School. Our fifth graders were treated to an impressive concert by all three groups, followed by a Q&A session with music directors to learn more about the amazing music programs available for them to join next year. Thank you Cario music students and directors for sharing your many talents with us!

First graders learned all about Veterans Day this week. They wrote letters to the Veterans in their lives, read books about Veterans Day and brainstormed the character traits of a Veteran. After all of their learning the students came up with motions to match a trait with their friends and produced a short video. Happy Veterans Day!

4 Houses, 1 PACK! 4 Houses, 1 PACK! 4 Houses, 1 PACK! Friday we announced this year's House that earned the most points. More importantly, all 4 Houses combined to earn 8963 points this year which means that at least 8963 amazing things were accomplished at Carolina Park Elementary since January's launch. Thank you to the teachers and PTO volunteers who made this inaugural year such a success. And congratulations to AMISTAD for earning the most points this year!

Some of our 2nd grade classes are hatching chicks this month and this morning Mrs. Haecherl's class came in to witness a great surprise!

Mrs. Shaffer's third grade class took the "Surface Pressure" off the end of a week in Music with Mr. Dickinson. Students spent the week learning about harmony and different types of timbre created by instruments.

Mrs. Watkins' 1st grade class had the opportunity to to Zoom with Devon Harris from the original Jamaican Bobsled Team…so cool!! Their door is based on his children’s book, Yes I Can. Ms. Watkins' received an autographed copy years ago and decided to email Mr. Harris. He offered to zoom with the class which is a memory they will have forever. Check out a portion of their zoom below.
