Two Minutes on Tuesday - 61 homes for sale in Knox County Ohio that are available through the Knox County MLS and that number is up from previous months but we are still not near a balanced housing market locally. It is still a sellers market here in Central Ohio regardless of what you are hearing in other parts of the country.

Mortgage interest rates have recently dropped into the 6.3% to 6.4% and 6.5% range for many of the fixed rate mortgage programs. There is a believe that the mortgage rates will come down into the 5.9% range due to weak job market report. Lower mortgage interest rates could mean lower house payments for those who want to buy and the bigger bonus is that with the lower interest rates you will likely qualify for a nice home.

Single story homes and ranch condos remain the hottest segment of our local housing market and you will be hearing more and more from me asking if you know of anyone who wants to sell their home or condo because we have a pretty extensive list of qualified buyers who seriously want to purchase a home from us.

Two Minutes on Tuesday - It's time to get your mortgage pre-approval updated because the interest rates have been moving up and down over the last 6 months with rates ranging from 6.5% to 7.25% for most fixed rate loans. It is critical that if your mortgage pre-approval was originally calculated below 6.875% that you contact your lender and have them update your pre-approval letter because the amount of home or loan that you are qualified for has changed due to the difference in the mortgage interest rate.
