This May’s composer of the month is Catherine Rollin! (1952 - Present)
Catherine Rollin is a pianist, teacher and composer that has held masterclasses and clinics all over the world, and has multiple award winning students. Having obtained a master of music degree from Oakland University School of Performing Arts, Rollin writes contemporary piano pieces for all levels which displays her passion for teaching. In addition to composing music, Catherine Rollin has also served as a judge for the MTNA Student composition competition and as part of a panel of judges for the Lynn Freeman Olson Composition Contest. This cool looking violin is part of the Yamaha Silent Violin Series. A perfect option for practicing, the YSV104 is versatile in the sense that it can be played silently with the use of earphones or out loud with the help of an amp. Come check out our new digital saxophone! The Yamaha YDS-150 is a versatile instrument that can be played in soprano, alto, tenor, and bari sax ranges. It’s designed to feel similar to an acoustic saxophone and responds to your breath accordingly. You can use the volume feature for performance or headphones to make it a great practice instrument.
