Cooking week in our Preschool Classroom. In the sensory table the children are making cloud dough. Cloud dough is great for squishing, stretching and shaping. It's the ideal material to help little ones develop their manual dexterity and improve fine motor skills. It's also perfect for STEM learning

In our preschool classroom, they are working on using scissors to cut out cactus. Scissor skills and cutting activities help develop fine motor skills, in particular the muscle strength and dexterity of the child. In addition to fine motor skills, cutting activities can also help develop bilateral coordination and visual motor integration. This involves using both sides of the child’s body, one hand to hold the paper while the other holds the scissors.

Conflict resolution is an important skill. At Kids Connection Childcare Center, our programs teach children to resolve disagreements peacefully, fostering a harmonious classroom environment.

This week, Summer's Odyssey took the school-age kids on a journey to Japan, where they learned about the art of origami. Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into two- or three-dimensional shapes without using glue or cuts. These two students proudly display their origami boats, which they made without any sinking!
