A BIG thank you to Chris Ashmore-Good as our host for the Scent Work trial this past weekend at Wapahani High School. She helped set up on Friday, manned the hospitality table on Saturday and Sunday, and helped tear down Sunday. Then she vacuumed the carpets and mopped the floors to have the school ready for the first day of classes this week. YOU ARE AWESOME 👏.

It was our last Trick Dog Class tonight and we had a couple more titles earned.

Oliver (with Sam and Suzie) and Perry (with Brenda) both earned their Trick Dog Intermediate titles. Congratulations to everybody!!

Lots of training, and fun, has been happening over these six weeks and I can’t wait to do it again!!

We were also joined tonight by Tina and Oakley, who came to show off their Trick Dog Novice skills. Oakley passed with flying colors! Congratulations!!

Enrollment is open for our Monday night S.T.A.R. Puppy and Basic Obedience classes that begin August 19th. S.T.A.R. Puppy will meet at 6 pm, Basic Obedience at 7:30 pm. These classes will not meet on Labor Day. For more info and to register visit munciedogtraining.com

We are in desperate need of volunteers at our Scent Work Trial being held at Wapahani High School on Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th.

Don’t know anything about Scent Work? Not a problem, we will show you what to do. This is a great opportunity to learn something new and it’s not difficult work.

Muncie Obedience Training Club is a 501c3 non-profit membership organization. Our mission is to teach people to be responsible dog owners and canine companion sports participants and hold events that demonstrate the benefits of dog training. Our first fall trial weekend is September 27, 28, & 29. Obedience Saturday & Sunday, 2 rings. Rally Friday, 2 rings. The Clubhouse has been remodeled with more crating space. Premium is available at our website munciedogtraining.com.

Rent-a-Ring Sunday July 21 at the newly remodeled MOTC Clubhouse. Both rings available, $5 for 5 min., $10 for 10 min. MOTC members free. Obedience 9 am-1 pm, sign up begins 8 am. Rally (nested courses) 1-4 pm, sign up begins at noon. Crating space inside is available, be considerate. Good sportsmanship is a MUST at our Clubhouse.

Our first Advanced CGC test resulted in six dogs earning their CGCA title. We held the test at the Minnetrista Farmer’s Market. We answered lots of questions and really enjoyed showing off our dogs. The dogs did incredibly well with all the different sights and smells. Good dogs!! 🦴

Enrollment is now open for our Saturday morning S.T.A.R. puppy class that begins Aug. 10 and Basic Obedience class that begins Aug. 10. OUR TRAINING BUILDING IS AIR CONDITIONED! Enrollment is also open for our Performance Fundamental class that begins Thursday Aug. 15. Performance Fundamentals introduces preliminary basics of Obedience, Rally, Agility, and Scent Work giving you a chance to try out different sports without a long term commitment. This class does not substitute for beginner classes in any of these sports. Dogs should be able to work around other dogs, sit and down on command, walk on a loose leash, come when called from 6 ft. on leash, and stay for 10 sec. from 6 ft. on leash to do well in this class.
