We will not open today Friday the waterfall pump is burnt out, can anything else go wrong? I worked on the waterfall from about 10am till 4 and I was wore out

Here will be the hours for the final weekend of The Island Muncie
Saturday 2pm till 8pm
Sunday noon till 8pm
Monday noon till 8pm

I just turned the waterfall on and the pump is burned out. So not open today. Can anything else go wrong?

Well the hits just keep on coming. Just found out our main refrigeration unit kicked the bucket.
So with that in mind we will not open this weekend. However we will open next weekend and I feel that will be the last time for The Island Muncie.
We opened Labor Day Weekend 2008 and it has been so nice meeting so many wonderful people.

The Island Muncie will be open this coming weekend Aug. 23, 24 & 25. More info soon.

Well, I had a conversation with the Indiana Michigan Electric rep yesterday and it's not good. No deliveries through their parking lot and they aren't sure that parking will ever be allowed. I am working on another avenue but for now - The Island Muncie will not open for regular business.

Opening day this year will be 14 June 2024. Have some pump problems on the 4 hp pump. Also the situation with parking looks like the same as last year. I & M told me they would be done and gone by May, but they are still there and have the parking area closed off.

Another wonderful educational trip to Cuba. The people are are so warm and welcoming.

Well I'm sorry I'm not sure how to change it says that we are open but we are not will be open as soon as the weather breaks consistently. Usually it's the end of April beginning of May.

Well it has been a strange year, parking situation, rain & heat. With that in mind we have decided to close for the season on Sunday the 17th Sept. 23. That will be our last day for this year. Fifteen years ago The Island Muncie opened after taking five years to build. I do want to thank all the wonderful customers we see. Yes, I'll see you in 2024.

Tomorrow we are hosting a large chanbara tournament at The Island Muncie. We will be open for all to visit, so if you see a large group. come on in.

Because of the high heat today,
The Island Muncie will not open until 5 pm. Just today.

Please remember that if ot rains, we close for the remainder of the day. Since we are completely an outdoor venue, everything gets soaked and the ramp gets very slippery.

Thank you to all that came to The Island Muncie yesterday - our first day of the season. Some problems still with parking. Until we get something from Indiana Michigan Electric, on parking, we will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I need one more week.

OK, for sure. 11 June to open. I have about 1/2 of the 12x32 deck finished. A few more things I want to do before opening. So one more week. And I want to add a big thank you to all who have commented on the parking situation. Working on something, stay tuned.

Update: I just spoke with the people at Indiana Michigan Electric and the prognoses is not good. They have informed me that the parking area shared by Berkshire Hathaway, The Cardinal Greenway and The Island Muncie over the past 15 years - will be closed all summer. In the past there has not been enough foot & bike traffic to stay open. So over the next couple of days I have to decide how to proceed.

Construction on the deck/stage is progressing. Parking at the Trailhead is stalled. Indiana Michigan Electric owns it now and they have it blocked off to tear down the previous Berkshire Hathaway Realty office. I think we will be ready Friday 2 June.

Well it was a wonderful trip to Cuba this month. Such a beautiful little country and the people - wow they are so warm and friendly. So back to my little tropical oasis here - The Island Muncie. We are preparing the "behind the scene" stuff. Looks like opening should be around the last week or two of May. See you then.
