If someone asked me what running a successful business “looks” like, that’d be it.
Sacrifice.
Not saying “yes” to every friend that wants to spend time with you. Not escaping the confines of your studio for hours on end, no matter what time of day, afternoon or night it is. Meals. Showers. You name it, it becomes something that no longer seems like a necessity.
Commitment.
Not only to those sacrifices but to your craft. Constantly learning. Constantly growing. Being present on social media — as much as we may hate it. Saying you’re going to do something and proving it with action, even on your most tired of days.
Unyielding dedication.
To all the other minute details other people glaze right out. To them, your customers. To always acting with the highest level of integrity, so people trust you before they even meet you.
We won’t talk about the other side of small business, which requires a VERY strong mindset to quiet the “noise.” The self doubt. The “what if I did all this for nothing” right before you launch a new collection.
There’s about 639 other things I can think of off the top of my head that also factors into it, but for the sake of this post we’ll keep it to the top 3, because I have 174 packages to get made, pulled, bundled and packaged up to head out from my latest Halloween drop.
Thank you will never be enough, so thank you times a million 🧡😮💨 Moments like these are where the last two months of prep seem about 95% worth all of the above.

This is far from glamorous 🤪 but I wanted to take a second to show IRL one of the biggest parts of making clay anything that a lot of people don’t take into account: the finishing details.
Sometimes (thankfully not often for me), people will make comments on my pricing. It’s videos like this that I want to show them. The videos where I sit hunched over a table for hours on end hand cutting fine details… or the other hours where I’m sitting on a bean bag chair on my floor assembling earrings, because there’s literally no other room in my studio to take up 😅
Like a lot of things in life, just because you don’t see it on social media, doesn’t make it untrue ❤️

From pre-bake, to post-bake and completion 👌🏼
I’ve been experimenting with different types of finishes, glitters, foils, additives… you name it! This experiment may be my favorite yet 😍
I hand-mixed alcohol ink into clay, then added an embossing powder to give the milky translucent parts added texture.
I’ll post a video below so you can see a close up. It’s a stunner! 😮💨
