Have you ever been ghosted by someone? A different perspective can help you make peace with them even if you never speak to them again.

“Ghosting,” I had a friend who perfected this before it had a name…
She was brilliantly happy, secretly addicted, incredibly dark- and the loss of our friendship was mind-bending.
I took it to heart.
I took it personally.
I took it wrong.
Her disappearance was not about me; it was about the fact she couldn’t face her shame, and she knew I would see through her internal abuse.
She was too kind to put it on anyone.
She was too proud to ask for help.
She was too scared to be called to the mat, so she retreated, gone, took a deep dive into the abyss, and time kept marching on.
As time passes, our assumptions make it harder to repair what has been left unsaid – and so it is.
I reached out, but my hand was not accepted – and so it is.
The experience was good medicine.
I had to go inside my own fears, insecurities, and ego. I had to process the disappearance that wasn’t a true death but a metaphysical one.
I spread the ashes in the garden of “such is life.”
Now I get to remember what a gift she was - the garden blooms a softer memory and replaces the complex bitterness of resentment.
And, so it is.
