So one of the questions I often got upon our SonSun’s diagnosis was “how is the relationship with his sister?”. It is a question we still get to this day, now about the relationship with his big sister and baby brother. Listen, love and relationships are modeled and children learn from that example. Prayerfully it is being done in a healthy way. How we treat people is inner instinct AND learned behavior. Instinct because children have such a freshness, realness, truthfulness and purity to their thoughts and actions. Learned behavior becuase they react/respond and model our response to things and differences. It may take some longer than others to show or model. Your loved one may show love in a different way because of neurology, disability, etc but it is their way of understanding and showing loving. Even if there is a barrier that is preventing reciprocity/display of reciprocity, continue to love and model love.

So how is the relationship among my children? As pure and genuine and hilarious and honest and real and raw and LOUD and LOVING as it can be‼️ They absolutely adore one another; will fight for one another; get on each other’s nerve. My baby girl is the quintessential big sister. She reminds me of…well me.🤗🤗🤗 My first born SunSon is the quintessential little brother AND big brother. He is fierce in his protection of his big sis and baby brother. My baby is the typical little brother and youngest…with every single thing that entails. We call them “Cornbread, Earl and Me”
