I'm super happy to have completed Face Reality's newest, advanced certification training. This training opportunity just recently became available, and I was excited to dive right in.

Working with acne sufferers, seeing their skin clear, and seeing their confidence boosted is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.

It is a true blessing to share the Clearing Journey with so many beautiful people, and I am so thankful to have a brand and system that actually works.

You've heard it a million times, but I'll still always remind you: hydrated skin is happy skin.

A few tips to keep that skin hydrated, happy, and healthy:

- Drink your water!

- Leave a little water on your skin after cleansing, and while it's still damp, get your serums, lotions and potions on right away.

-Use your SPF!

-Hyaluronic acid and other water binders can be great tools for increasing skin hydration levels.

-Super hot water is a drag for skin, try to reduce the heat in your showers if you possibly can.

-Even if you're oily, top your water-based skin care with at least a thin layer of a suitable moisturizer, it'll help keep that water locked in.

-Avoid over exfoliating. Too much exfoliation is a fast track to dehydrated, unhappy skin.

Keep that skin hydrated this summer, your complexion will thank you!🩵💧

Due to social media hype, I am asked about snail mucin just about weekly. Snail mucin is a protective agent for snails.lt helps them move along, and it protects them from the environment. They also produce much more of it when stressed. Why? Because they are living critters, and their slime is produced in excess when stressed just like we sweat more when stressed.

For beautiful, healthy skin, consistency reigns supreme over intensity. You'll see far better results with just a few targeted steps and consistency than you will with "here and there" use of super strong products.

I recently read a description of a well-known organic skin care brand that included the statement "skin care from the earth." Doesn't that sound nice?

What we should ask when we read these types of marketing statements is "well, where else would your ingredients from?"

Even synthetic ingredients, synthesized in a lab, are made from earth-substances.

Literally no product you purchase will be made without ingredients from earth. We just can't get substances delivered from Mars and Saturn. Maybe one day. Not today.

Be cautious of marketing hype. Dig a little deeper into the claims. We often pay an enhanced
price for labels like that, and the claims have no real meaning.

I love pretty things too, but when it comes to your skin care, do not be fooled by pretty packaging.

Luxury brands focus on a visual impact with their lovely containers, but containers don't fix skin, ingredients do. And, I promise - there is nothing happening in that $300 cream that a $50 cream couldn't do.

Biotin is touted as a cure all for hair, skin, and nails, but it comes with some unique potential side effects that aren't so wonderful. If you struggle with acne or congested skin, you're likely already shedding too many cells each day (which leads to breakouts), so biotin supplements can really complicate any attempt at skin clarity.

For those who don't struggle with acne, biotin supplementation may still pose issues. It has the potential to cause inaccurate thyroid testing results - not a good thing.

You get biotin via diet and via beneficial bacteria that live in your gut, so a balanced diet that focuses on gut health will go a long way towards promoting healthy skin without undesirable side effects.

I know it's a trend, but no, you really don't need a 10-step regimen to get healthy, radiant, happy skin.

You do need a core set of products and a streamlined regimen selected just for your skin and your goals.
