COMING SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16th

Today was the proudest day I have had while serving as the Commander of this post. Some of our officers and I went to V.E.T.S. in Ledyard to deliver the first of many financial donations to this outstanding program that serves veterans in many ways.

https://vetsct.org/ is in a new location on Pumpkin hill road and they spent a lot of time with us explaining just how much they do for all veterans.

I would strongly suggest that if you want to help veterans, you donate and support this operation. If you are a VFW post looking for a place that really has hands on active support for those of us who have served reach out to them and do what you can, every dollar helps.

https://vetsct.org/give/

Many thanks to Director Thor and his staff (especially the horses) for an outstanding day and for presenting to us some of the success stories of the program,

We presented them with a “This is a start” check and we will be supporting them with monthly donations for many months and years to come. If your post is looking to help you can PM me and I will provide personal contact info.

So the next time you see veterans out getting donations for those “poppy’s” think of what that small donation can do to serve our brothers and sisters who have served

Embrace the mission, we did!

The lights were bright last night with the visit from the State VFW Commander, the District 4 Commander and many others. We had about a dozen Comrades stop by to meet everyone and enjoy some informal time together with members from many different posts across the state.
My focus was to get information to help us apply for grants to fix our facility and increase its longevity, mission accomplished.
Thanks for honoring us with your visit and thank you to our officers who attended as well as our Auxiliary President and members

Looking for a couple of volunteers to prep for taco tuesday please, the same one or two people can not continue to do this. While it is a good money maker we need help and ya know what happens if the same people do it all the time…..they burn out and then we all lose. You can come in on Mondays or tuesdays to help. Check with Melissa in person or message me for her cell number.

I cannot over emphasize how thankful we should be to our Auxiliary. There is so much behind the scene's work getting done DAILY by members of the Auxiliary which no one sees and we take for granted. This is NOT paid staff that I am taking about it is all the Aux volunteers who come in to clean the ice maker (Stan), clean and replace the oil in our fryolators, clean the waste dump unit, change the position of the flags, attend to all of our flower beds (Sherrill), help with dinners including set up, staff the event then clean up, attend post picnics and special events, some volunteer then work a paid shift then come back to volunteer, they put up hundreds of flags every year in the Elm Grove Cemetary, they see what needs to be done and they do it. Each and every Aux member is a true gift to the post and we could not possibly be in the position we are without them. Next time you come to the post be sure to say thank you to our Aux members, or just respond here "THANK YOU Post 3263 Auxiliary"
From the bottom of my heart Thank you, I salute you and I will be forever thankful for each one of you.
