Hey friends! They were talking about "skipping" your mortgage on one of the news channels this morning. It's no skipping it, its putting it on hold. Then after the months of foreberance, you have to pay those months back. Not at the end of your loan, but when you flip the switch back on to start paying it. Basically, skip 3 months of payments, ready to pay in the fourth month, payment is actually for all 4 months. You can ask to spread it out over time, but it's minimal time and will increase your mortgage substantially for those months. Please check with your lender to make sure it is not going to be like this for your loan. I just want everyone to know that some of the national media are encouraging and making it sound like it's easy peasy and you basically skip the payments. Nope. Not the case. Yes, it helps so your mrlortgage doesn't go into foreclosure, but make sure you know what your individual lenders policies are. Or ask these peeps! Aimee Zahm, Emilee S.
