We are in need of an equipment operator to join our team! If you have experience operating construction equipment such as Loaders, Back Hoes, Track Hoes, Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, and more, we want to hear from you! Safety is our top priority, so operating equipment safely and efficiently is key.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including locating utilities, performing minor maintenance on equipment, and keeping accurate records. Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards, aggregate sizes and classifications, and weight requirements for loads leaving the pit is a plus.

If you have a passion for operating heavy equipment and are excited about the opportunity to work on various job sites from highways to rural roads, we want you on our team. Previous experience or training in heavy equipment operation is highly preferred.

We discovered a mama goose and her eggs in our old pit reclamation project! This is such an exciting find, and we are thrilled to be able to witness the beautiful sight of new life in our project. We made sure to take all the necessary steps to protect them at their temporary home. This unexpected surprise has added even more meaning and purpose to our project, and we were excited to see the little goslings hatch and thrive. We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Transportation/Logistics Shipper and Team Safety Lead! This position is part-time with the possibility of becoming full-time.

As a key player in our operations, you will need to have a solid understanding of the construction, paving, and material distribution industries as they pertain to transportation. Your role will involve managing various functions related to transportation and logistics, ensuring that orders are processed efficiently and delivered in a timely manner.

In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will also serve as a Team Safety lead, helping to train our transportation department employees on important processes and procedures. Customer service is key in this role, as you will be responsible for managing same day orders and coordinating deliveries with our truck drivers and external partners.

We are celebrating Women in Construction Week with our talented ladies making their mark! Today we're highlighting Asya Saucedo who's been working with Idaho Materials and Construction as a CDL Concrete Mixer driver for 15 months. Here's what she has to say about working in the industry:

"I like working in this industry because it's good, honest, hard work. I'm a tomboy at heart so I like to play in the mud and the muck. Where I work it feels like family. It feels like I'm being surrounded and protected by friends, brothers, and fathers. The men that I work with never hesitate to help me when I need help, and the women and I share a special bond by smiling and waving at each other while discussing femininity versus masculinity. I love being able to be a strong independent woman and take care of my four children as well as friends and family. My career stability is a solid foundation for my loves ones, and I'm excited to see what is going to be built."

Her advice for other women in the industry is, "If you're a woman thinking about choosing a career in the construction industry, I say do it. It is a hard-working, fund, and rewarding experience."

Today, we gathered to bid farewell to our esteemed leader as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.

With a mix of sadness and excitement, we will deeply miss his guidance and expertise, yet we eagerly anticipate great success for him ahead.

Idaho Materials and Construction was a proud participant in the 2023 housing project for Habitat for Humanity! As part of their 2023 housing project in the Magic Valley, a home was constructed and donated to a chosen family upon completion, and our organization proudly donated the total amount of concrete used for the entire project.

The home is part of the “Build with Strength” initiative in partnership with the National Ready Mix Concrete Association. A program aimed to construct at least one home in each state in the country, with 33 states currently being represented. We are honored to be part of this community effort.
