Doggie Diner Memories....
"My Pops was a City of Alameda Fireman and we used to go to Doggie Diner on Webster Street. Just down from the firehouse. I can remember the Open layout of Doggie Diner and the bar you would stand at. My grandparents lived in Napa until the late 60s." ~Robert
Notice the new logo design of the words Doggie Diner and the absence of Coca-Cola logo signs. This location was Doggie Diner's attempt to upgrade the company's image. I believe this location was in Hayward. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Very old picture of BRAND-NEW Doggie Diner at the corner or Lewelling and Hesperian Blvd in San Leandro.

"Hubby is from SF and my kids grew up in the East Bay. We would always drive or walk by the Doggie Diner after hiking Sutro Baths or the Zoo. Our kids loved staring up at the big dachshund head in the sky since we had a peppy red dachshund at home for over 12 years."
This is our newest addition to the Doggie Diner photo library. Can anyone help me identify this Doggie Diner location? Looks like it was next to some rail lines.
Looks like wind or explosion damage! Even with problems, Doggie Diner was open 24 hours a day! Do you see the employee still working?
Doggie Diner Memories....
"Growing up in San Jose, I would drive from the Eastside to the Doggie Diner on Stevens creek when I first got my license, just for somewhere to go in the car, and loved the food!!! 10 years later living in SF, I would go to the DD on Geary to relive my youthful experience. The Biggie Dog and Pastrami Sandwiches were my favorites. Truly wish they were still around..." ~Donald
The Doggie Head was located on the roof at this location and the traditional forward bent pole was not used. This location featured colorful graphic signs of happy smiling food and drinks and was called Doggie Diner Land.

There once was a Doggie Diner in my hood
Where the burger and dogs were so good
Then one day they were closed and gone
But just heard - The Dog will be back in '21
How I long for that Dog to return to town
To feed me when I am hungry and down
So where do I turn to dine and possibly invest
And get that BurgerDog, always the best
Will leave my contact for The Dog to text or call
And where & when to bring family, friends & all
So let it be the summer of The Dog in The City
If Doggie Diner doesn't return, what a pity!!!
Pat

"We are eagerly awaiting the new rebirth of doggie Diner in Napa. When was a young boy, my family frequently went out of town on the weekends. Coming home, we would drive along Geary Street in San Francisco. The light of the Doggie Diner would be my first indication that we were nearing home. That Doggie Diner closed before I was ever able to go there on my own. But when I was old enough to drive on my own, I used to go to the Doggie Diner on Sloat, which was later the Carousel. I also went to the short-lived Doggie Diner that opened on Geary and 11th avenue. I miss Doggie Diner!!! It was a local legend that disappeared too quickly for me." ~Tom
Looks like the 1970s? Notice the old logo sign that was eventually replaced with Doggie Heads. Van Ness location.

Bay Area man wants to resurrect the famed Doggie Diner A Napa resident wants to bring back Doggie Diner, but California’s recent wildfires threaten his plans.
See some of the fun that happened at the August 19th, 2018 party at Bell Plastics in Hayward Calif. They have a huge collection of historic fiberglass Americana statues and other interesting stuff. Of course, this includes several of the beloved Doggie Diner - Doggie Head signs. How many do you see?
Thank you, Bruce Kennedy, for your dedication and this special event.
