Statement from the North Central Athletic Department - North Central College Athletics The North Central College Athletics Department acknowledges its complacency in the creation of a diverse and inclusive atmosphere and has outlined the steps it plans to take to involve multiple components of the campus community in working to create meaningful change.

Our next Alumni Feature is Shawna Armstrong! Swipe left to hear about Shawna's experiences at NCC.

Shawna graduated in 2009 with a BA in Sports Management and 2012 with a MA in Leadership. She is currently the Senior Athletic Recruiting Liaison at Aurora University. She still enjoys the game to this day and can't wait to teach her daughter how to play golf when she is old enough.

Shawna's current hobbies entail running and hanging with her NCC sweetheart, Ryan, and their daughter, Harper.

Today’s virtual team meeting was about deliberate practice. Our motto is- work so hard in practice that competing is a breeze.

What are some of your favorite ways to get the most out of your practice sessions?

Our first of many alumni features is Kelly Vazquez! Swipe along to hear about Kelly’s NCC experiences.

Kelly graduated in 2016 with a bachelors degree in Physics. In 2018 she graduated with her master’s in Mechanical Engineering. Now, she is a PhD research assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on path to graduate in 2021. 🎓🎉

Kelly regularly plays golf and coaches golfers on the weekends. She typically plays at University Ridge in Madison, WI. She also loves to go on long runs!

Her advice to all Student-athetes is “soak it in. College goes SO FAST and golf is such a highlight when you look back in it.”
